Superchips questions

Well, I didn't pay attention to how old a thread was and I bought a Suprrchips Vivid Linq.
I found it on Amazone and the price was good so I now have it in my hands.
First problem was loading the app.
I could not find it when anywhere
I finally did find it but only third party type of sites, the ones you don't know what all you REALLY downloaded.
So I figured out that this is about 5 years old, and is not supported by superchips, and might not play nice with my newest phone.
So my question is this.
Is this still a good unit?
I haven't installed it so I can send it back.
I will probably just use one of the lowest power settings.
What I really wanted to do is stop all the gear hunting when on the hills.
T on my daily commute i climb and decent 3 hills, the speed and incline are such the i constantly shift in and out of overdrive.
If I go fast enough it will stay in OD, but I don't really like driving that fast.
My hope is that I can set it so it will not shift into OD till I am not pulling so hard.
In general, another 250 rpms between shidlfts on light loads would be nice.
TIA
