OilPan skid

New Crossmember and skid. This thing is bulletproof. lol. I was under the truck on the creeper with this thing resting on my stomach. I'm thinner now.

This is the Trans skid that i had to modify. Since I put the AFE Y pipe in, this skid was hitting it. So i cut/ drilled the mounting bracket and cut/ drilled the skid. fits great. This thing is 1/4"

Next up (this weekend) I'll weld on the front LCA skids and rear shock skids. ..if this snow crap stops. welding with water around you just doesn;t sound like much fun.

I also need to do my rear diff slider and F/R diff covers before Moab. That may be all I have time for before the trip. rack, bumpers, winch, lights may have to wait until after the trip.

good eye. lol. yeah, I was doing a writeup on the install. you have to snug them down in a star pattern and took a bunch a pics as I went. all torqued to spec.

Did you tighten all the bolts on the oil pan?? The 3 at the top look pretty loose. :whaa:

Great work on the build Tim, love the detail and thought that goes into all of your mods. :corn:

I love watching build threads, regardless of the vehicle. :corn:

That looks like it's coming along marvelously, Tim.

got the rack, fairing, dual ladders, hi-lift mount, awning mount, quick release up front (allows the rack to hing back), quick release for Yakima mounts. I have less than 1" clerance in the rear to hitting my garage door's rubber flap up top. The hi-lift mount fits, but the hi-lift does not. bummer. looks like I'll be mounting that when I head out wheel'n, camping, etc only. awning should be in on Wed or thursday. I'll get some pics up on Tuesday at least.

I don;t have a writeup, however I do have a build list from it. I'll get one up on here in a different thread. PM me your email and I'll send you some pics and that build list.

Looking good!

Btw, how does one take off the hard top with a roof rack?:corn:

this rack hinges back out of the way. that's one 5 minute option.

The other option is the leave the rack in place, remove the ladders (5 minute job) and it slides out the back. It does take two people to take that top off though.

Wow thats awesome Tim! I hope to get our Jeep somewhere near the stage you have yours in.. Even if you answered it again, what are your plans from here on out?

I have a ton of things i would love to do on this build and I keep adding/ deleting things from the list as I learn more.

Here's where I'm at:

Before the April Moab trip:
Weld my lca skids on in front/ lower shock mount skids rear.
ARB diff covers F/R. lubelocker gaskets.
AEV rear diff slider
ARB awning

Not sure if I will get these done before Moab or not yet (if not, I'll work on this when I get back).
Rigid Led lights: 4-6" front of GOBI/ 2-6" SR rear of GOBI/ D2 Duall lower A pillar.
SPOD relay block and switch panel
hook up my rock lights (already mounted along the frame)
hood lock
17X9 XD wheels

Spring/ Summer:

* Bumpers/ winch/ lighting
I'm in between bumper manufacts at this time. Either Expedition one Trail Sereies F/R or ARB F/R.
Warn winch 10K, synth line, synth rollers or Aluminum hawse depending on bumper.
20" RI led bar on front bumper w/ clip on amber difuser. (the windshield and roof lighting is usless in fog, rain, snow. lower light is perfect in those conditions and the amber will fit that need when it's not clear out)
Nemesis rock rails

* Interior upgrades
Katzkin Leather package
Dynomat on tub floor
hothead headliner kit
Factory Garmin Nav (I think they finally are shipping these now).
LED dimable floor lighting (green or red/ not sure yet) front only (helps when traveling at night and not having to turn the overhead lights on inside.

*17X9 XD wheels, 35" KM2's (I'll use these for Summer months and keep the 35" AT set for winter months

* Engine performance
AEV Heat reduction hood
AEV Snorkel (they are still some time out on their 2012 snorkel design) both pre-filter and ram air scoop (for different climate)

* EVO sleeve/ gusset for front axle.

*Charging
Nemesis Dual battery bracket w/ Odyssey batteries (at least I'm hoping to fit those batteries/ still need to figure out sizes to work with the nemesis kit and 2012 engine bay). The kit should be released in the next month or so.
National Luna Intelligent solonoid
Tucklite headlights w/ rally light harness.

...and that's all I have planned for a complete build on this one. it's a long list and a ton of work. I'll tackle it little by little as time/ funds allow.

Well, did a couple more things since than...not much, but updates at least.
I put 17 X 9 XD Addict (4.5: bs) and got rid of the wheel spacers.
P4090112.jpg

I also ended up putting the AEV corner guards on for a little more protection on the vulnerable rear quearter. These help reinforce for the GOBI rack too.
P3200003.jpg

you can see the factory Euro L plate delete plug still works on the AEV guards. I also added in a mopar fuel door. It helps keep the mud/ debris away from the fuel cap too.

ended up buying a new Cobra WXST. After 9 years, my old one had broken wires in side it. I also upgrade my K40 antenna to a Firefly II/ 4ft. I tuned it, but an still learning how to :fine tune" it. lol. once I get my rear bumper on, I can properly ground and it will be FINE TUNED!

top off, lightbar only. I have a custom GOBI replacment all ready for the 40" Rigid LED bar. I like this look the best. Clean lines.

next up is the wiring though. SPOD, LED lighting interior, LED Offroad lighting, finish up my rock lights.

I have finally seen his JK in person. It is so clean! The build is well thought out and is well put together. I still dont understand how it has no scratches, no dings or dents and is spotlessly clean 20 minutes after we get off the trail.
