I'll second that. I love my STTs.
If you look at the list of weights you posted, the Toyos are clearly heavier, but the STTs and all the other ones are within a couple pounds of each other.
I have had my STTs in pretty much every condition there is, and have not found them lacking in any. They are soft and flexible when aired down, yet very tough. I have run the sidewalls through/over things where I was certain I would be changing the tire after, but they just ate it up without a mark.
I just rotated the other day, and have 11,000 miles on them. I checked the tread depth and did the math, and on paper, if I ran them down to 5/32", they are on course for just over 50,000 miles. While I doubt they will actually reach that, it looks promising!

I did on my truck before, it was actually summer and winter, same idea though. After two seasons of messing around I gave up and ran the winter tires (BGF AT/ko) year around. The thought has never crossed my mind with my 2 though, considering the weight of the 37" Toyo I only want to mess around with them if I absolutely have to!
Does anyone have experience with the Interco Irok's? I've been thinking about a set when the Toyo's need to be replaced. The 37" flavor weights in quite a bit less than the Toyo 37", @ 69lbs, the Irok 39.5" @ 85lbs, the Toyo 37" @ 92.6lbs!!!... now I just need to figure out how to squeeze those guys in the wheel wells without a 6" lift! :horns:

I have found that after 2 years the rubber compound has hardened so much that they don't work well off road, regardless of how much tread is still on them. So, I'd say get the MTRs and plan on replacing them every 2-3 years.

39.5" Iroks....there are also pictures of it floating around with 41" Iroks but from what I understood there was a lot of trimming involved with the 41's.
Also, the weights you were quoting are for the bias ply Iroks. The radial 37s are 81lbs and the 39.5s are 99lbs.

Thank you for correcting me on the weights, even 10lbs lighter per tire is an improvement though. From what I understand, 10lbs of rotational mass is like 100lbs of cargo weight? (roughly of course)
Edit: After some quick googling it looks like 10lbs of rotational mass (on tires anyway) is more like 20lbs of cargo (roughly 2x).

Hmm has anyone had much experience with the Hankook dynapro m/ts? Ive been running 35" BFG TA/KOs and just bought a set of the hankooks. I heard great things in reviews but I guess we will see. Cant beat the price though got 4 new 35" tires from discount tire with warranty for 1100. Now I just gotta wait to get my truck back from the shop to put them on :sigh:

The company is South Korean, and they have plants in South Korea, China, and Hungary. Not sure which plant makes the truck tires.

Found a picture of a Dynapro M/T on eBay and the first two digits of the DOT number were T7. So they are (or atleast some sizes are) made in Korea.

Just found another DOT plant code on another size tire, BJ. So it appears that some are made in China also.

That's why I asked. I refuse to run Chinese made tires.
I was checking on tires last week to maybe get another set of STT and my dealer tried to order them from the distributor and they said they are no longer made?
Other than seeing them online in stock has anyone else run into this?
Might be time for me to look into more of an AT with open tread.
I did some searching today and may drop back to this.

It should say somewhere on the tire. If it doesn't have a "made in ****", there will be a DOT code that will tell what plant they were made in.

I just checked to see if I could order some here from South Carolina due to I'm getting new tires in like a month. They are still available here from Discount Tire. Not sure the reason you couldn't get them, but they aren't off the market from my shop. Best of luck tracking some down!
I went to the Cooper Tires web site and there was no indication that the Discoverer STT was discontinued. I'd check again, possible with another distributor, and make sure somebody didn't get a digit wrong when they searched.
Pretty sure that is Rick's truck. No longer has it. At one time he ran 42's. Lots of custom fabrications and plenty of breakage.

Like Max said if its not stamped MADE IN BLANK, use the first two digits of the DOT code and look it up here

The Cooper Discoverer STT is still being produced, our vendor shows 14 in stock (which is about the normal stock level for a tire of that demand). The Cooper Discoverer S/T is a great hybrid tire. We use them on a lot of fleet and large breed veterinarian trucks.
The only distributor here is like 60 miles away. Not sure what the deal was with that. I will check again.
I sort of like the S/T and there was one other more aggressive I think, before going to the STT, but it did not come in 315.
It so dry around here I forgot what mud was!!
