TX Oct 19 or 20 Highway 87 High Island - Sabine Pass Run

I'm still in the process of nailing down plans but planning a mini family vacation to the Galveston area the weekend of the 19th. We'll probably be camping at least one night possibly at Fort Travis which is near Port Bolivar. I would like to make a High Island - Sabine Pass run on either Sat or Sun. While it is normally a nice easy run, I'd rather not try to make it alone. Low tide is around 11 am both days which should be perfect.

Again, this is tentative, but let me know if you would be interested.

Would love to go! I work the night of the 19th but could meet you there after work on the 20th as long as hubby drives. We could be there by around 9:30-10:00 am or so on the 20th. Just let me know if it becomes solid.

Bendy, I wasn't doing very well getting things planed for this trip and hit a major road block today. Looks like this trip is off. :gaah:

That was an awesome gathering of Hummers. You think we will ever see that many together again??
I have been back twice since then. A great run to get to play on a beach.
I liked all of it until three of us made the return trip down to the ferry and just at sunset those black gnats attacked!!!
I had just got the snorkle and it was the stock scoop. It plastered bugs all in my air filter. Lesson learned, rotate that or get a pre-filter. ha ha
Plan another one.
I ran that a bit too late one day as the tide came in and went for the very end anyway rather than driving all the way back to the beginning.
It got a bit scary by myself. I could imagine being cemented in the sand until I was up to my neck. Fortunately there is not that much tidal surge but could have become stuck. Oh well..........
