volant intake 03-07 vs 08-09

So this might sound dumb but what's the difference? Everyone who uses the "air doc" tube uses the same one its the same from 03-09 right? Is the air box itself different? If so would an 08-09 air box work in earlier models? You reuse the stock maf sensor and housing I believe right? So is that where the issue is the 03-07 coupling is smaller then 08-09?? I ask only because I have an 06 but found a really good deal for an 08-09 and going from volant web site the only thing I can tell is the filter is bigger on 08-09 models. The inlet itself I should say is an inch bigger.. the filter length is the same.

If anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks chris

They are different......... I have an 08 & I originally ordered an 07 Volant but it didn't fit.

My memory is a bit vague but all the connections were different (Air pump, Fender & throttle side)

The AIRDOC stays the same because it only replaces the throttle inlet side & retains the flex where the sensor is.

Note: I have the Volant & AIRDOC but I had to cut about 1.5"off the AIRDOC at an angle to connect them.

I'm trying to find out from someone I know who works at corsa. The customer service at volant sucked today to say the least. For a 800$ intake they were a half step away from me telling them to shove it. The only thing I KNOW so far is it comes with a new maf that some people like and 50% say they can't use it because it throws a check engine light and can't even be tuned out.

I would get the Air Doc, works great, sounds great, and you feel the difference, let alone considerable cheaper then that volant. Just make sure you order the correct year for your vehicle and it will be an easy install. I added the K&N air filter which tops it off perfectly. The only additional thing you might need, which is not necessary, but I did it anyway, was screw an angle bracket (bent to it myself) onto the K&N filter and the other side of the bracket to a metal spot below it, just to make it more secure in case of lots of bouncing with going over bumps or off roading

That's the thing the 08-09 volant intake is much cheaper but I don't know why the difference. Other then the earlier model comes with a new maf... of the rest if different.
