H3 Warranty Information questions

I noticed a small amount of oil on the garage floor this afternoon so i took a look to see what it was and this was i noticed. I also noticed a little bit of a wet spot around the rear differential. Just wondered if this would be covered under the powertrain warranty or not before i take it in to get looked at. Also check out my warranty info and it had this statement which i am unsure its meaning:

"120,000 MILES
10-Year Special Coverage 11157*


Any ideas to the meaning?

The leak is the axle seal which is an inexpensive part but takes a bit of work to replace as you have to pull the halfshaft. This would be covered under powertrain warranty. As for your 120,000 warranty I have no idea unless your truck was provided additional warranty perhaps due to some issue in its past.

yea, the axle seal went out...mine did not too long ago and I replaced mine. Warranty issues shouldnt be a problem...an axle seal dont seem to controversial but then again who knows with GM...

What year is your H3? How many miles are on your rig?

I haven't heard of the above stated 120,000 MILES 10-Year Special Coverage 11157*

I had the left front axle seal replaced on mine last month under warranty. Something I could have easily done myself but no sense paying for something I don't have to.

The 10 yr special policy has to do with the brake line..my 08 Alpha has just such a warranty binder...# 11157A-Special Coverage Adjustment-Front brake hosefitting corrosion..from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service,regardless of ownership. Models 2006-2010 Hummer H3,H3T

Thanks for the input te truck is an 07 H3 with about 63k on it. Looks like a trip to the dealer is in my future I will ask about but I bet jetcop20 is right as I have didn't notice a few months ago when I checked the warranty Thanks

I have also had the front axle seal replaced on mine. Was told its a common occurence on our trucks. Also had the pinion seal replaced.

Well, to be more specific I've had three axle seals and one rear output seal replaced. My truck loves taking trips to the dealer (I don't)

Axle seal was shot dealer replaced it no issues along with a few other items i pointed out and confirmed the warranty extension was for the brake line clip in case any one else is wondering what that is for. Thanks for all the help
