Getting ready to order all my fluids and came across this which is suggested to buy with my crankcase fluid. Is their a filter inside the crankcase?:roll:

I don't know of any replaceable crankcase filter, if we even have one. If you're doing engine, transfer case and diffs the only filter you'll see is the normal engine oil filter.

I think Chook is right. I think its an upgrade for the Crankcase vent filter.

Just because it's shiney doesn't mean it's an upgrade.... stick with the GM designed crankcase evac system.

Just found out it is to be used when you remove the shroud and install a cold air intake.

Just found out it is to be used when you remove the shroud and install a cold air intake.

That and back in the day you popped them on your valve covers on small block chevy's to let the crankcase vent to the atmosphere which prevented your carb from getting nasty oil in it. Against EPA regulations now which is why all vehicles have a recirculate system, EGR, etc.
