Wiper Blade Pressure?

Does anyone know how much pressure there should be on the H1 wiper blade? I know that sounds stupid, but I've read that if the blade skips, one of the problems might be blade pressure. They say to change that pressure, I need to bend the arm a bit. Well, how much? If I were to take a small package scale and measure, what should it be?
Thanks guys....

By the way.... The biggest problem with the wipers smearing was the bugs. I would go through a full container of washer fluid every few days.
This is an everyday ride in the morning with bugs. There is one short strip 1-2 miles of road that has these bugs. It sounds like rain hitting the windshield! Every night when I go home, I need to clean it.
Does anyone know of a good spray on bug remover that eats away the bugs, then wash it off? I've tried everything. I also heard about using baking soda. I'll try that this weekend. What do you all use to remove bugs?

Have you tried Rain-X? They make a product to apply to the windshield, a wash solution for the bottle and wiper blades. In concert I would think it quite effective. The wash solution and the blades work for me. Have never required the application to the windshield.

Ever tried carnuba car wax on your windshield? Certainly makes bug removal off paint easier.

I have used the Rain-X product you apply to the windshield and it works great. It’s a bit of a pain to apply but it’s been on there for two months now and still works pretty good. I was surprised how effective it was in the rain and I also noticed it was so much easier to remove bugs from the windshield with it applied.

Great guys. Thanks for the info. I'll go out and get me some Rain-X.
The window is the easier part to clean. I can also take a razor blade to get the really bad stuff. The front of my ride is 10X worse! Especially around the turn signals, license tag, and winch areas. I sprayed on a few of the market brand bug removers and it looked like it took off about 10% of the dried bugs. the rest takes a tough sponge with a slightly rough side. It would be great to find some spray foam that dissolves the bugs (without eating the paint) so I can wash them off easier. So far I haven't seen anything.

Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner works great on engines and undercarriages, wheel wells etc. Never tried it on bugs - but it might work. I think a good wax as a base would be my first defense then maybe scrubbing bubbles or another cleaner of that type.

Well.... Ready to hear some possibly useless information?
I grabbed my trigger pull scale and started pulling..... I hooked up to the wiper blade and pulled until it just came off the windshield. I figure that should be pretty accurate.
My H1 has 2.2 lbs on the driver side and about 1 lb on the passenger side. My passenger side blade would smear a lot. I bent the passenger side wiper arm slightly and got a matching pull of about 2.2 lbs each.
My H2 blades pull at about 2.5 to 2.2 lbs each. The Tacoma is at 2 lbs each.
Now you know.... ;-)
