I learned a few things about myself in the past few weeks. Of all of the aspects of Hummer ownership, it was the modding that appealed the most to me. Hunting down parts, finding cool accessories, building out an awesome trail rig. Sadly as much as I would like to go out and buy a 2012 Hummer, I can't.
So I decided to go all-in and I traded in my '05 H2 and my '10 H3T for a 2012 Ram 3500 Laramie Longhorn, complete with the 6.7L cummins diesel. I checked off every box I could and this truck is completely and utterly loaded plus it comes with the awesome Longhorn interior leather seats and longhorn trim package. This thing took some serious searching and a few sessions at the dealer to locate just the right truck. In the end we were able to locate just 5 trucks in the US that met my criteria and none were near me, so they had to have it shipped to CT. I ended up with the Molten Red pearl coat finish and that changes color as you look at it from different angles, kind of like what the H2 special edition colors did as well.
I have big plans for this truck and look forward to building this up as well. I have thoughts and ideas of what I would like to do and if it's okay I wouldn't mind sticking around. I have met so many many wonderful Hummer people. In all honesty the people I have met here or out on the trail are the salt of the earth. I have so many great memories that I doubt I will be away from the world of Hummer forever. Heck maybe I can even take my new beastie out on a trail ride, as soon as I get him ready
The good news to all of this is that for those looking for another Hummer, I can tell you of 2 very well loved and very well cared for trucks are located. When I gave them the H2 yesterday I had the full vehicle service history, receipts for everything, no hidden baloney. I gave it to them with the gobi rack, dual ladders, strut upgrade, borla exhaust, raptorq, 37" Nitto mud grapplers, E&G Flares, CB Radio, everything. I could probably rattle off mods for a half an hour. Whoever buys that truck is going to be one very happy camper. Just point it at mud and hit the gas. The H2 was kept out of snow and salt, garaged (until my garage was destroyed) and detailed by a professional.
The '10 H3T is a great example of an almost completely unmolested truck. The only thing I ever did was to install a daystar dash panel and a stubby antenna. That's about it. It's a 2010 H3T adventure with front and rear lockers, and the 3.7L engine. It was serviced by Long Hummer in Southborough MA and runs on Mobil 1.
I have a bunch of Hummer parts that I would probably like to sell in the near future, among them:
H2 Roof rails complete with keys
H2 Top plastic louver with hood handles.
extra set of H2 hood handles
H2 chrome nerf bars
H2 diablo tuner
ARB 60QT Fridge/Freezer (still on the fence if I want to sell this yet)
Official H2 backpack
Lots of Hummer merchandise
Hummer dealer wall clock (not sure I want to sell this one)
