should leave the mud on there a couple days... it's a shame to wash it off right away... it's nice to wear that badge for a while!!!!

I clean it off right away cause if u leave it, its possible the mud can eat away at the paint. At least thats what ive been told

I've left it on for a week before, have never had a problem with it eating the paint

Now this might be a problem with the paint.

Yes cleaning sucks but when your 18 and have 4x4 mudding is the most legal fun although u might be trespassing at times. I5s something ill do a couple times a month. Every one is different in what they like to do with rigs. Mudding is just something I really enjoy doing

You could always plastidip it if you are worried about your paint. The Plastidip will provide some degree of protection, and acts like clay bar when removed (removes some bonded containment from the paint)

That's the only thing I hate about living in Florida, if you want to wheel it, it's going to get muddy. Haven't had my truck off road in the three years I've been back--I know, that's a crime that would probably warrant giving up my "H" card, but I just can't bring myself to mud it.
I will agree, when I was 18, I used to mud my truck in the empty lot across the street from my high school before morning classes, would leave it in the parking lot dripping goo. That was a lot of fun. It seemed every time I'd finally bring myself to wash it, I'd have it back in the mud within a week.
Not sure what's changed with me, but I hate being in mud anymore. It might have been the cow puddle I got into on the side of the road in my old truck---it smelled like **** for a month after...........

Twin, I'm like you - I hate mud! There, I said it & I feel much better now! If I wanted to wheel in mud pits, I would ride my mountain bike to Marana and wheel at the nearest pig farm or go to the local biker bar and dive into the mud wrestling pit and run out before they can catch me! :D

Alex told me he had pictures of you already jumping in the mud wrestling pit [emoji41]. And from what I hear you enjoyed it and didn't run. Kinda flopped in there

Yeah, I saw thos pics--Louis' was in the pit with some creepy biker dude from California with a pony tail, three teeth (not all in a row) and a heart shaped tattoo covered in mud, but you could pretty clearly see the letters "Z" "a" "c " inside the heart-----

Let's get the facts straight - the biker in the mud pit in California with the pony tail, three teeth and the heart shaped tattoo was a chick named Zac - and I enjoyed every second rolling around with her in that mud pit until her boyfriend arrived and wanted to kill me! At that point, it was time to call it a night and do the 100 yard dash out of there!

I don't get what the deal is about washing off mud.

Take it to a drive-through car wash,
get the underbody wash
take it to a "we hand dry" car wash and run it through again.

things that hurt
mud doesn't hurt paint, writing "I wish my girlfriend was this dirty" hurts paint
the mental picture of you all wrestling together in mud

FYI Be gentile with the water when it comes to your engine ya I know it sounds strange. but our years don't like heavy water on top of the motor. IE lessened learned the 6.0 liter has 2 knock sensors located under the intake manifold water and mud can sit there rusting them away. you will not find out until the engine starts running funny due to a bad sensor. the kicker there are 2 sensor's at the cost of 900 bucks each! plus the labor to get to them. My mud trip cost 1800.00

My daughter asked me this weekend why I haven't wheeled the deuce since we've been back in Florida--three years. We were picking up one of her friends and when we headed back to the house I continued on for half mile to the dirt road leading the head of the local bayou. It had a couple of really cool mud ruts that I was able to bomb with style. I left the windows and sunroof open---it was a blast. Luckily the girls worked on initial cleaning of the interior as soon as I got home, then my other daughters washed it a little better the next day.
What an awesome feeling when you don't make a habit of it!
