A Grand departure in certain aspects. But I think it looks better than the new Viper. I would love to see it in person like I have seen the new Viper.

The tail lights are my biggest gripe but I think they look great still. the new Vetter Headlights being taller than wider looks better than the Viper's. The Viper's are nice but too Ferrari-esque.

57% stiffer frame while 99lbs lighter.
Hood and Roof are carbon fiber
LT1 engine- est. 450HP and 450lb-ft. Direct Injection, Cylinder Deactivation, Variable Valve Timing
7 Speed Stick with Active Rev Matching
5 Driver Modes- Weather, Eco, Tour, Sport and Track; Change Magnetic Suspension Settings, Shifting, Traction Control, etc.
Steering control from steering wheel to tires increase by 5x as stiff.
Forward tilted Radiator working in sync with Hood Vent to increase aerodynamics and cooling by directing hot air over the car and not under.
Air Vents on quarter panels for Differential and Transmission cooling.

I believe the concept car of this one was driven in the Transformer Movies as Sideswipe. The production version looks pretty sweet but I kinda liked the concept better (as most people usually do).

What I don't like is a C pillar! But, I have not liked any since the C5....
But they will sell everyone they make, and they are money makers for GM during the series life cycle.

I am sure that I will not get used to the tail lights. Corvettes have round/roundish tail lights. Always have and always should.

Awesome! The back end sort of looks like the Camaro.

Trying to keep brand familiarity. Malibu, Camaro and others already have squared taillights. and other features.

New Stingray=Z06?
\

No, see below for explanation.

I believe the concept car of this one was driven in the Transformer Movies as Sideswipe. The production version looks pretty sweet but I kinda liked the concept better (as most people usually do).

Yes, the concept was Sideswipe.

I love it! They are referring to this generation as C7 so perhaps the Stingray is Z07? :)

Every Generation of Corvette is called by C (Corvette) and Number to which Generation C1-C7. but only certain generations are Corvette Stingrays. This is one of those generations. I watched the live unveiling on youtube.

according to Jalopnik when the C7 is finally up for sale it will debut with two models. the Stingray and the Z51 (larger Brembo brakes, larger wheels, and optional variable-damping Magnetic Ride Control). Which doesn't sound right since Z51 has been a package and not a model in its own right.

I'm hoping a Z06 will debut with an engine comparable in displacement the LS7 but with a complete redesign like the 6.2L LS3 to 6.2L LT1 jump. and if the numbers are similar in increase in power I would expect 525-560HP and 490-530 lb-ft.

I like it! Not sold on the back tho I will be there Saturday to check it out in person

Please take lots of pics and post them!

Wow what a price!!! The only downside to this new vette is the electronic hand break. A manual hand break is clearly the only way to go!
