Any one here run these for any significant mileage and any good or bad feedback.
Since the stock tires I have run 4 sets Cooper STT Pros for the last 355k miles. I'm considering going to some aftermarket wheels since 16s are getting harder to find. I don't really do any wheeling and most of...
The ECP (engineered cooling products) one has a legit thicker core. It's listed at 2.0" thick if you want an upgrade. I can check actual dimensions this weekend if anyone is curious. I thought I saw somewhere they integrated the supports into the design. The plastic prices did not match up...
I have a very warped sense of practicality but I think all ls swaps should just go to a 6L80e. I know it's not your swap. If this started life as a 5cyl then the bell housing and input shaft have been swapped in that trans. A standard rebuild should be able to refresh what's in there without...
To me the u joint is the fuse. It would fail first before the driveshaft. What was the nature of the driveshaft failures? Did they twist the yokes beyond repair?
Send me a pm with what you want to do in tap shift and send me your tune file to casey.simon@adv-controls.com. I think you are wanting full manual with no smarts (eg don't shift to 1 if you come to a full stop and forget to downshift. You probably want at least overrev protection to keep you...
I have a starting place for you.
The shift lock solenoid is energized to let you shift out of park. So that means the shift solenoid must be powered. Also I believe you can't turn the key off unless you are on park and possibly in neutral. Sounds like a problem with the park position...
So two things. 1) you have closer ratios on the shifts so it naturally won't feel as snappy. 2) that's a fresh flash and cal. The transmission will adapt as you drive it more and start optimizing the shift times.
I haven't changed anything in mine with shift timing, just the speed vs tps...
Shifting sluggish because it's probably not setup for your gearing. Just answered your PM. Let me know if you want any pointers. I tried using bluecat software to set my shift tables but it didn't work right with the low rpm range. You can either try that, or I have a spreadsheet I can share...
I assume you kept the 4L80e. Man this would be a great candidate to upgrade to a 6L80e. You would be surprised how much better it would take advantage of the power band of the cummins. Would take a little bit of electronics to work out but I think the driveline would be very close to the...
