I've never had to change an in-tank fuel filter.

Ford has gone away from using external filters too. Diesels are pretty much it for external filters

Rock Auto showed part numbers for frame-mounted fuel filters for the Ford 2014 half ton trucks. I'm sure they will eliminate them as well. Gotta save a buck somewhere I suppose...

Did a swap on my crown Vic years ago but that was an inline filter(pretty sure that's what it's called), wasn't inside the tank so was an easy move. It was nasty inside with black looking flaky stuff. Anywho it is what it is...we live we learn and move on...nobody was born an expert at birth...well almost nobody :wink:

yes and no and yes to answer your question :wink:. I think I ended up here looking for this info in the search bar but for an h3. If you look at the first response F5 provided great info but said for a 3. Somehow from there it continued. Now hopefully the thread is providing great info for both owners of the 2 and the 3. You are right it is in the h2 section which I noticed when I came back to the thread to follow up. Maybe the thread could be moved to a general hummer slot instead of for the 2 but that's above my rank hehehe.
Reminds me I need to update my signature to include year and model which provides direction to responders when answering questions etc. Good observation fish :cheers:
