When you're doing that much to them, they don't have to be all that perfect to start. I'd bet they weld-in a fair share of replacement patches on original panels.
My dad restores these things. He finds them out in Montana usually still in use. They are clean with little rust. He rebuilds them into daily drivers and gets $30K plus for them. They are a beast to drive.
