If i'm not loaded with school work!
We just have to remember to take it easy and choose smart lines and not just flog it.
I ran my 06 out there many times and then my 08 Alpha without serious damage.
I did break a steering rack but it was a really tough trail and I had been on many trails so things had gotten shook up.
Not knowing what I know now to watch for I could have probably prevented that by tightening the steering rack bracket.
Instead I just built a better one.
I been looking for past posts of Superlift but I think they got lost in forum changes.
Here is one of my more exciting experiences when the rack broke as I topped a hill coming down the other side was a bit hard to control.
It was only about 100 yards to the bottom of the ravine.
I used my front and rear winch to pull it sideways back on the trail.
This is one of few mud holes that are there when it has rained.
This is one of many steep ravines on the trails.
There are loose rocks the size of bowling balls on some trails with steep side angles.
If you like hills they gottum
Pipeline that can be fun.
Dry creek beds that are narrow.
Crazy steep and loose rock trails with "potholes"
Places to play in the dirt
Great scenery at the overlooks

Ok I'm stoked let's go lol. I went to a park this weekend closer to home and had fun and gained some confidence so I am ready!

I could do without the rocks and nearby trees lol.
This is MY map marked with the trails I used to run the most.
NO way you can do all these in two days.
I hope to be able to pre-run these if I can find another vehicle to go with me.

The bare spot just off the right of the power line is the parking lot.
Then last big group I led, I have to check the date.

You guys keep working on it.
I got sidetracked and went sailing in 25 knots of wind instead of going to Superlift, because
I needed to swap tires before going and I pulled my rotator cuff in my shoulder, again while attempting that.
Great wind and finally in the 60-70 degree range.
So I got a crew to pull lines and I was the tactician.
I got one of those Harbor Freight tire jacks today and managed to swap tires and wheels all ready mounted today without killing my shoulder, I think.
I think they are closed Monday but if I can find this local with an H3T maybe we can go over Tuesday.
Just have to see how my fun schedule works out with my havetoos.
I will check back and see how the date is working for you all.
PS if any of you guys coming for this want a pair of Rocky Road Rock rails I got a set off a street queen.
Looks like currently the are $595.09 shipped.
I will sell these on the spot for $400.
They are 70 inches long so if you don't have a roof rack measure inside.

Turns out Superlift is now open Monday so I should have run over there yesterday.
Now they are only open from Thursday till Monday. geeze I hate change, lol

Anyone running CB radios at HotSprings this weekend?
You can run CB's in some places but the terrain makes anything other than in a tight group hard to do.
If I can make it for the weekend I will have one.
I may try to go over Thursday on my way to check on my sailboat and check out the newer management at the park and see what they can tell me about the trails.
If I can find someone I know to run a few with me I will.
I have not been in a few years so don't know what to expect.
I will try to post some current info Friday.

Ive got a tent camp site reserved if anyone needs it? My wife got us a yurt at Catherine Landing. Hit me up if you want my camp site number.
Well first the geriatric report! lol
My left rota-tor cuff aches, my sciatic nerve on the go pedal side aches clear up to my rear.
I got over there about 12. They do have a nice new office and store. Minimal pre-packaged sandwiches, drinks and snacks.
I asked and Superlift is not part of it anymore. It's the Hot Springs Offroad Park.
We discussed the trail conditions as compared to back about 2011, the last time I was there.
Knox did say they had done a lot of repair so that less difficult trails were passable.
It had gotten really rough.
Heck, it's still really rough in a way but then that is what we go for right?
It took me 4 hours to run some familiar trails. So with a small group it could take 5 or more hours.
There were some technical issues in places. Large rocks are now exposed or just laying there like bowling balls so tire placement is important.
I made some three point turns rather than a three point roll and avoided pushing my tires forward at full lock.
"Tie Rod Destroyer" on an H3 Hummer.
If you guys are running 14mm toothpick tie rods pickup some 16mm spares if you are going to continue to go offroad.
Then read how to replace them if you should need them.
There are lots of trails to just explore and some you can go to the head of and watch people "attack" really difficult climbs.
The Christian Crawlers from Louisiana were starting to show up as I was leaving. They are a great bunch and I have guided them on occasion. So there will be some activity going on. It looked like a Jeep convention.
I saw one relatively new looking, no dents yet, four door Jeep with every accessory there is but he was asking about level 2 trails.
It had advertising from some custom shop and was trailered. I think it was a virgin?
I will share what I know, since I don't know your level of wheeling experience is, shut me up if you have this down.
A few grab shots today and the trails I ran.
This was the first pipe across the road entering that area. Doesn't look like much until you see it but look how much my tire is stuffed on one side and dropped on the other. Too fast and you will drag your bumper, hard.
It knocked my tow hook up.
I'm going to have to trim my flares somemore.
