Just got home. It was a beautiful day, and a pleasure to meet you all. I am updating my gopro now (probably why I couldnt connect from the app) and I will upload the three videos I was able to take before my battery died (forgot to shut it off after attempting to link it to the GoPro app. I will also upload my cell phone pictures after I get them to photobucket.

That was a perfect day...one of the best I've ever had at the Badlands. Pleasure spending the day with you guys. Kelli and I spent two hours this morning scrubbing the poo off our Hummer. Put the fuse back in the airbag slot. Swept out the spiders, twigs, and dog drool.

You're correct about the GoPro App....it must be the latest to work properly. I had the same issue. This outing I filmed in 1440 and I also cut it down to 30fps to save some file size. I had Kelli hold the camera, rather than rigid mount it to the truck. This gives a really cool perspective because the truck is moving independently from the camera...much like the targeting system on an Abrams tank. It also allows her to pivot and rotate 360-degrees for some cool panoramic views. I try to edit all the b.s. out of my vids to keep them short but it still takes hours to upload them to youtube. I should have two of them posted by midnight-LOL.

We cruised around the park for about another hour after everyone split. Then went back to camp for some grub and a few cold ones. Headed home this morning. Unloaded and cleaned out the inside. The outside still needs a bath. It was nice meeting everyone and seeing CJs bumpers firsthand makes me want them even more now. Hopefully we can all hook up again...

How would you compare the Badlands to SMORR Digglesworth? I've never been down there, but from what I have seen it looks really nice. Now that you have been both places, which would you prefer?

Smoor looks like a great place , but the 470 mile ride would keep me from going.

There's a lot more trails to run. Not just a wide open area to go where you want... RSC and I went and hardly saw anyone else. Its 940acres so its not small. And you don't need to bring your 4wheeler/dirtbike repellant. I honestly enjoy trails more than playgrounds. Badlands was nice but all those dirt bikes were overwhelming. Smorr is a newer facility too so the bathhouses are way clean. The camping area looks nice too. We had tons of fun and have been talking about going back ever since.

I know what you mean, not too much around me here. I hate driving 4-9 hrs for wheeling. I have done those 20 hr round trips before but it takes some planning and commitment. There are some areas around McAlester, OK that are way cool (and Superlift in Arkansas) but its a hump for most everyone else. SMORR was really good, even better after rain (they say all their trails are at least +1 more difficult then)

Do you have any desire to go later this summer? I was contemplating a trip to Windrock and since both are equal in length to get to, it would be nice to not go solo (unless you would rather drive down to Windrock in Tennessee).

LBL is lots of fun....wheeled there several times. Turkey Bay is the hard-core wheeler park but, there are many cool fire roads and lots of back-country camping too. The LBL is an island...so there is always water nearby...swimming, fishing, boating, whatever. Many cabins for rent too.

Digglesworth,you must not have spent to much time in the truck only trails. We only saw a few Jeeps while we were in there. You have to come back to the Badlands,that's where we are going to drink beer and change your bumpers.:cheers:

Skidrow, I'm up to head out there whenever. It's a 4hr drive for me to get there too.
Woodtick, as much as I want bumpers, I need a 4:1 t case and rear locker first.

Watch the you-tube videos and you will be impressed. They run KOH qualifiers there and definitely have the terrain to let a buggy stretch its legs. There are also a couple long, easy (level 2-3) trails that have several level 3&4 trails branching off them but twice as many trails an H3 can't go. There is plenty for all skill and equipment levels. If you guy are headed to SMORR, I'll make it.
