Already down two kegs since posting... Did I mention I picked up dry ice to keep it cold! Nothing like having a good fog roll off your kegs all day long!

Took the T into a local tuning shop and they adjusted shift points and line pressures for me to better suit the S/C & 37's... picking it up tomorrow and I'll see how much of a difference it makes!

Got new OEM springs on order as the previous owner/dealer thought they would cut the bumpstop for some reason... (More "up Travel"???)

Anyway the part # is 15783030 if anyone is looking for it and GM calls it a "spring"... and if you are trying o find it on the parts diagram it is in the Frame/chassis section! not suspention like I first thought!

Here is what my current "spring" looks like:

Can't wait to stop the front end dive when braking! (plus this will really help once the winch get put up front!)

The "springs" are in now and feel WAY better then before! Two main areas I feel the difference:
1- while braking, no more nose dive, much more energy going to slowing the T down
2- when initializing a turn, the T stays much more flat and has hardly any body roll

Had some aftermarket speakers in briefly but they were 4ohm and the OEM monsoon system is set up for 2ohm... Without being an electrical engineer to explain why they really sucked, i can just say they had exactly half the power lol and I went back to OEM

purchased a RTT this morning! I can't wait to pick it up and install it!

Here is the unit I went with:


Tonight I am going to fabricate some roof rails for the tent to attach to above the cab... thought about mounting it on the SnugTop but thought it would be awkward to get things stored under the top if the tent is set up and in use (no to mention the added weight in the rear plus the 140lbs on the hatch which I am sure the gas struts can't hold)

I'll post pictures of what I come up with later. Any hints from anyone on how you would build it?

I was told to have a minimum of 2 cross bars, but more realistically I should have four.

Nice! Can't wait to hear how you like the RTT. I've been looking at them for a bit but can't throw the money at one right now. You've got the extra power but I think it would add a lot of drag for my 5 cylinder.

I'm thinking of just building a platform for my 2 person tent until I spring for a real RTT.

One of my concerns would be the stock roof rails. They just look to be very flimsy to me. There's not much you can do about them unless you replace them and bolt something stronger to the roof. I would just keep an eye on them every so often to make sure them can take the lateral motion of moving around the tent.

I just about bought a ARB RTT w/extra room last month but then backed out because Im not sure how well it will fit on my rig , due to its gonna be pretty high up . When you have yours all installed if its not to much trouble i wouldnt mind taken a look at it all set up . Those things arent cheap lol , so just want to make sure one will work on my truck before i spend the money .

I plan to put it onto a trailer one day but for now I just finished welding up some cross bars to put it above the cab and se how she is!

I'll post up a full review once I have tried it out on our 7 day road trip down to the US next week!!

I finally replaced my magnetic CB antenna with a firestik mounted on the rear bumper swing out..... The reception is already noticeably better then my old setup and I haven't had a chance to tune it yet

So I decided to finally bite the bullet and buy a RTT!

Pick it up on Aug 25th and slept in it until September 2nd on it inaugural road trip through Alberta, Montana, NW Wyoming & British Columbia.

After 40 seconds of zipping the change room in (allow for another 30 seconds to zip the floor in if needed and 30 more seconds if pegging is required)

I have a copy that's in full resolution that would make for a better wall paper, when I get my computer unpacked I'll try and set up a copy that more suitable as a wall paper.....

Little does my GF know I could blow it up to cover literally a wall.... I think it would look great in our bedroom hehe

Got a guy bending/cutting up some 1.75" tubing for a set of sliders and a second guy getting brackets laser cut.... Once I have both I'll be burning them all together for a complete set of sliders

Next after that will be either a hidden winch set up or some UCP.... Thinking I'll go the UCP route first but that'll change if I stumble upon a deal on a which first!!

The brackets for the sliders came in last week... They look awesome! I went to go burn them together..... but I had 8'' of wire left on the spool so I am going to pick up a new spool of wire this week and burn them in over the weekend. I am also hoping to get the tubing bent up this week as well so I can get build the sliders in one go!

I'll post up the pics as things progress!

Also got my hood handles from BigUnit at the end of last week and will try and get those suckers on this weekend as well!

After this weekend the remaining (for now) tasks are:

1- UCP
2- Hidden Winch
3- Fix up DIY snorkel
4- Retro fit Projectors & HID's into the stock headlights (maybe some halo rings while I am in there)
5- Steering support
6- Smaller rims

Then a RTT trailer build.... oh the list never ends!

I saw that I saved some pictures from another members build (Silvrzuki77 - http://www.hummer4x4offroad.com/forum/showthread.php?4196-H3T-sliders-(possible-production)), mine will be almost the exact same as I used the same shop to cut out the brackets (goes by the user name am4x4 around these parts) and Silvrzuki77 gave me the measurements to get the tubing bent up.

Had all sort of things pop up last weekend that prevented me from getting to the sliders... so that project has been postponed again, hope to have some time to get to them this weekend, but already seeming unlikely right now.

I did however order a universal dual gauge pod, trans temp gauge and a boost gauge.

I want to make sure that my trans temps are staying within reason and I also want to be able to keep and eye on boost pressure (mainly for when I am towing)

Once I get it all back I think I am going to try and squeeze it into the small open space above the review mirror on the roof (glue a block of wood to the roof under the headliner and then screw the gauge pod into that)
