i unscrewed the sun visors, passenger roof handle and the pillars, it comes down enough to get in there, there is a lot of room up there too. its wasn't hard to do at all. i used two small aluminum strips to screw into in order to spread the weight of the switch out and its really solid with no sag. i ran the wires down the drivers side pillar. i really like them there since they are not in the way and easy access and doesnt get bumped by accident, passengers can use them, and doesnt affect my sight. there is a little blood stain in the pic but its gone now.

So how much room would you say is up there between the headliner and the roof? I'm getting my switches today and I've been contemplating places to mount them... I don't have a sunroof so I have tons of space up there. It just depends if my switches will be visible up there since they're rockers with the logos on the face of them.

I have logos that you stick to them but didn't add them. It can be visible from the angle you sit. As for room, do you still have that hump there? If so I got 7 wires running from there plus the clust behind the panel. I had to bend the backside of the wire connectors a little but there is nothing up there. Just a foam block to hold the shape and one wire harness for my sunroof. Probably a good two plus inches of free space. It's a great place for them. Really glad I put them their.

I still have the hump. It angles up toward the dome light (probably sunroof in your case) so I went out and played with the location. I could put them on the face of that hump so they're angled a little more so I could see them. The mounting plate for these switches sits flat so ideally I need to find a surface that faces me. And with the switches assembly, the connector housings and the wires coming into the connector housings, it looks like I'll need about 2.5-3" of free space behind the switches. Plus the spot in the hump that best faces me is kinda far back away from the windshield... Switches might look like they're out in the middle of the headliner. Might have to explore other options... Maybe next to the e-brake release to the left of the wheel.

I didn't put mine there because it could be easily hit by my legs. Do you have a pic of your switches? If you press down on the terminals that should make for some room. I had to press my terminals down a little bit because I had a lot of stuff behind mine.

I'll try and post them. I got the connector housings which hold the spade terminals. I have 5 wires going to each switch and the connector housing acts like a socket/plug that plugs into the back of the switch. I could not use that and plug the wires straight into the back of the switch and save a bit of space but it would be a headache if I ever had to pull a switch out. I guess I'm going to have to see exactly how much space is up there somehow.

Those are nice, how many do you have? Would be nice if it was on a panel so it would be easier to install. Hard to tell from pic but can that connecter piece come off and you run wires straight to the switch? And is the fuse there? If a fuse is there or there is no fuse I would add one. I got fuses in line to each switch and I moved to fuse to under the dash so easy to change out and protects the switch panel. I actually have two fuses. One fuse board that all wires run too and inline fuses ill post pics tomorrow of the setup.

The fuse is in the aux fuse block where I ran the power from. There is a panel they all mount in. It's a 3 switch panel... You slip the panel in the hole first and the switches snap into the panel. If I get rid of the socket, I gotta find a good way to mark the acc 12v, 12v from aux block and 12v to relay. The other two are grounds and I ran those in black wire. The 12v wires I ran are red. If I don't use the socket, I'll have 5 wires to figure out if I ever pull a switch out. 2 are black. Grounds. Easy enough. The other 3 will have to be traced with a test light. Acc 12v, on when key is on... Constant 12v, from fuse block. Dead wire, 12v to relay. Easy enough I suppose. I just gotta find a way to see exactly how much room is up there. If I pull the headliner down, I won't know. I thought about pushing a long needle up through the headliner and seeing how far I push it in till I hit the roof. I just gotta be certain they'll fit before I start cuttin holes.
