Did the OP pay the guy directly cash or cheque or did he pay the lienholder/bank?

I suspect the seller may have leased/financed the truck, took the money and ran instead of paying off the bank. That being said, what's the reputation of Mash? I don't know shops in Kansas other than H-Line/John Goodwin's shop which screwed over a buddy of mine who had to take his truck to Tustin and Predator motorsports to get his duramax conversion fixed.

so I bought this Hummer from a Guy in CA. He never sent me the title. The truck is sitting at Mash motors W/O a title. I got taken by a crook. He changed his phone # and wont reply to any of my emails. He has my money and I have a truck with a bad motor and trans.

I was trusting and got shafted.

I do have his drivers license home address, etc.

Well, bad people never have good endings.

The OP should check with California DMV on the title, if he has proof of payment and possession and at least a hand written bill of sale, he should be able to eventually get a new title.

If there is a lien holder [bank] then they will need to be paid off first, but checking with the DMV is your next bet.

Depends on how the situation unfolds. Could be fraud, could be sloppy business, could be the guy is in the hospital. I agree with Kurt. Check with the DMV first. Then I might contact an attorney and have him write a friendly little letter to the guy.

I hope that once this character gets a letter from an attorney that he starts to deal with this situation more seriously. With this crossing state lines he could be looking at some serious trouble.

The seller was in riverside or san bernardino county if I remember correctly..I need to look up the original posts but I know it was an inland/desert community ( aka tweaker country )...his pics showed be had a junkyard or something similar..some sort of big lot with lots of wrecked vehicles

Lets find this guy
