About a year ago my traction control and ABS modules started coming on and off. I'd also occasionally get a weird vibration in the brake pedal like the ABS as engaging. After a month or so the lights always came on. I had it in the shop at some point, and they diagnosed a rear ABS sensor. It was cheap enough so I replaced it, I've since replaced both front wheel bearings and abs sensors as well.
I've just ignored it, but since I had the truck in the dealership for the HVAC repair I decided to have them diagnose the issue. They said that the eBCM is bad and i'm looking at a $1200 repair.
Any other options here? Doesn't look to bad to replace the eBCM, but i've got to pull the master cylinder. I can get the module for roughly $200 on rockauto. But, it looks like it has to be programmed, and I'll also need to bleed the brakes which I also can't do without the Tech II.
If there aren't any other alternatives is this at least a normal price? I'm towing the camper to canada in a few weeks, So, I figured it's probably time to fix this, just a hard pill to swallow.
