Got rear-ended today...

It was my Mom's 82nd birthday yesterday, so we figured we should go up to Arvada and visit. Survived the Denver traffic, and going south on Wadsworth just after Hackberry Hill, while stopped at the light at 68th we feel the bang.

This Dodge Magnum wagon is nosed under the back of the H3.

Of course I am irritated, and I say "Congratulations, you have just learned what happens when you hit a Hummer." Of course I get the 1000 mile stare...

No damage to the H3, the tire didn't even get rubbed. The Dodge had nose and grill damage.

My wife said I was mean to yell at the girl. Duhhh, you didn't see the large YELLOW HUMMER?

I figured tough luck for her. She said she has had many "bumps" with her Dodge, it's just too big.

Oh well, she probably won't even get her Dodge fixed, she had other damage apparent.

Kind of funny that my wife was concerned that I yelled at her. My response, "she hit me." She also said I laughed at her when I found no damage to the Hummer. Well, I did kind of chortle, I wasn't really laughing...

I guess she was distracted by the pumpkins for sale on the side of the road.

Good thing she didn't scuff my spare tire!

You can yell all you want, she hit you! Lol. Has happened to me twice now, I got a new bumper out of it after discovering it had become compromised and internal damage done, thanks to an alert insurance adjuster.

If people would stop talking on phones, etc. And just drive!

Glad I was not following you! Glad your group is ok. I can relate to Denver traffic, esp in the construction. Weaving around me, speeding and cuttin me off and then all stopped, I was cringing twice for fear of a rear end crash.
Get this, cell phone sittin in front drink holder got drowned in one panic stop. Now I have a new smart phone, but I'm not sure about the operator!! Keep it in the dash tray now.

It sounds like the girl that hit you is just making excuses for her poor driving. Some people just live in denial. Acknowledging they have a problem is the first step towards correcting it. You were doing her a favor by helping her to begin her trip towards self improvement!

Glad to hear you got the better end of the deal, rear-end accidents are usually worse for the one doing the rear-ending! Well, unless you are on a motorcycle like I was when I got hit...

Check out your shackles and shocks, they might have been scratched and need to be changed out for a longer set! It's all about being safe ya know!

Yep, I got under there and checked everything. It was really more of a bump. I have hit trees harder than she bumped us! I am just happy that I listened to my wife and drove the Hummer instead of the Tahoe. It would have bent the bumper on the Tahoe for sure. I really don't think she even made contact with the bumper, kind of wedged under the spare.

Whew! Glad everyone is ok. Yeah, no doubt she was distracted. Probably looking at the big round orange things while texting about them... didn't see the big yellow square thing... and BAM!! :huh:
