You will need to explain the front and rear lockers to me. There are a couple of buttons on the 4x4 console and that may be what you are referring to, but I am not sure. Our tires have marginal tread and should last a little while however, when it comes time to upgrade the rubber, what is your recommendation for my muddy environment?

Thanks!

Sweet. We can help you with that. I'd recommend starting with mud tires. They'll help a lot on the wet dirt roads. Do you have front and rear lockers?

There should be a row of buttons above the radio. The first is 4 high which you use normally, it is all wheel drive with a 60/40 power split. The second button is 4 high lock. That locks the front/rear differential 50/50 split and you aren't stuck until one wheel is slipping at each end. The third button is 4 low lock. This engages the transfer case which gears it down for more torque. The forth and fifty buttons, if you have them, lock the rear and front differentials. This means that each side is lock together. With front and rear differentials you aren't stuck until all 4 wheels are spinning.

For you're muddy conditions I would recommend mud tires. There are many good choices but it is hard to know what is best for your area. Look at what others in you're area are using and research.

Be sure to check the owner’s manual for instruction on how to use and how to shift into and out of 4 Hi, 4 Hi Lock, 4 Low Lock and to lock the front and rear differentials. Transfer case shifting should be performed with the transmission in neutral and speed between 0 and 3 mph (ideally between 1 to 2 mph). Differential locking & unlocking should be performed at speeds less than 16 mph. Differential locks only work in 4 Low Lock.
