I got home at 4:00 AM. Long and amazing day for all the right and wrong reasons. I will say, that in hindsight, the run in with the mushroom eating forest gnome at the Discovery Center turned out to be a sign of how the day would go. Zach will be writing up a full trip report but a brief summary would be one half shaft, two tie rods, one drive shaft, two T cases, two mirrors, a door, a surfboard rack, 3 tires lost to the rocks, And Kurt's idler and pitman arms were lost to the trail. In running the trail three times before with a total of probably 50 trucks we had lost one H3 half shaft on this trail. I guess incurring the wrath of the forest trolls has it's price. I am sure there was probably more carnage but I am a bit fuzzy this AM. All trucks but one were repaired on the trail and drove home. Amazing group that well typifies the Hummer and H4O spirit. Everyone pitched in to get all the trucks repaired, winched, strapped, etc. The carnage was so evenly spaced out that it seemed like we worked on trucks all day and night long. I really regret that we spent so much time on the trail and I didn't get the chance to socialize with all of the group as much as I wanted. Hopefully next time. I love this group of friends/wheelers. Can't wait to see everyone again soon.
