These dealerships (ALL dealerships) & not wanting to honor warranties, is unbelievable! When I took my Ford Escape into the dealer for the 3rd time about the multidisc radio, after having it for one month only, they asked me what kind of CD's I was putting in it. I was so PO'd that I looked at them & said "ROUND ONES"! Every new car I have owned, the dealership has given me problems! Let me share them please so none of you make the mistake of going to them! Fred Haas Toyota on FM 249 in Houston, TX, Streater Smith Honda on I-45 in Conroe, TX, and Mac Haik Ford on I-10 in Houston, TX. I can list appalling specifics if you need.

Do not go to the one in Marble Falls(Chevy) or Mac Haik (Chevy) they will waste your time and money. The best dealer IMHO is Davis Chevy they honor the warranty and they will look out for you (as long as you're not mean and stuff) Davis' turnaround time is phenomenal when I drop my truck off I should get it back within 3 days instead of having to wait 2 weeks with the dealer in Marble Falls. I think it's really important to be in good favor with your dealer. Also so many dealers just don't wanna pay, it's ridiculous but unfortunately that's the world we live in today

Chris dealers do not pay the manufacturer pays. The dealer gets paid to do the work under guidelines from the manufacturer. Some dealers work hard for their customers and some do not.

I'm confused then? How does that all work? And true but shouldn't all dealers work hard for their customers for good business?

Yes. In a Utopia, every business works hard for it's customers. Unfortunately in this day and age as a consumer, you have to look out for yourself because not all businesses care to look out for you - some have only one blind aim: Profit.

Warranty work is billed to GM at negotiated (lower) rates. Non warranty work is billed to the customer.

Not happening I'm determined to get my truck back home even if it's in pieces. DO NOT GO TO THE CHEVROLET DEALER IN MARBLE FALLS VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY BAD IDEA!!!!!! I'm frustrated

Lee Hoffpauir Chevrolet Buick Inc. I hate giving people bad reviews and stuff but this is ridiculous I'm so PO that I'm thinking about calling GM about this. I really hope you guys don't go through anything like this.

Trust me, calling gm won't do anything in regards to bad service especially with hoffpauir. He has been around forever and makes gm lots of money

GM will not be able to do anything about it. It is an independent franchise that is not controlled by GM. When you dropped it off, did you sign the RO with an estimate for tear down? In Ca, if you do not sign it, you are not on the hook.

And that's unfortunate that GM can't do anything about it at least y'all know, it's just annoying. It hasn't been a good day and adding another problem with getting the hummer back is really annoying, yes I know it's life and sometimes that's how the cards are dealt, I'll get over it (I'm still in rant mode sorry)

Out here if you didn't sign anything or verbally authorize tear down it is a no brainer. Have sen it a few times before. Not sure how it is in Tx. Hopefully it works out well for you.

I don't think yall are being very fair with the dealers. Granted, some are better than others. Some are more likely to claim an issue isn't covered by warranty for a few reasons. The manufacturer does pay a reduced rate on labor but if the dealer is just trying to make money off you the bigger difference comes from the markup on parts. The other reason they will not want to cover something under warranty has to do with how recently they have been audited and how their relationship is with their GM rep.

As for them wanting you to pay them to put your truck back together, this is perfectly reasonable. You took it to them to repair it right? Many times you need to take things apart to find out what is wrong. I don't know what dealer rates are these days but a couple hours to take it apart and a couple to put it back together sounds like about $400. If they do the repair GM pays for it, if you decide to take it somewhere else you need to pay them for the work they have done. I would also take in to consideration that it could raise some red flags if you take it to a different dealer at this point.

I had a similar issue once where I knew there was a chance of a warranty repair being denied so I paid to have the truck taken to my dealer that I knew would take care of me.

BTW: Bendy, if I could not duplicate a problem with a CD player, one of the first things I would ask to try to get it figured out would be "What type of CDs are you using?"

Alright, so the dealer in Marble Falls will be taking care of the truck under warranty and hopefully I will be getting it back Friday of next week. This has defiantly been an adventure hopefully I or anyone goes through this run around, partially my fault I'll admit as well as a lot of miscommunication. Thank you for all the input and support and sorry about the rants and I hope we can bring this story to a peaceful and successful close, I really am thankful to have a supportive community that is willing to help not only me but anyone else out.

I realize many of you on here work for dealers or something of the sort and I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers; however, when you have paid over $20,000 for a vehicle, more than once, and it starts having issues within the first month, and you take it to the dealer under warranty and they ask you what you did to it then proceed to tell you they are not going to cover anything...it tends to leave a bad taste in your mouth! It would be one thing if it was one dealer here or there, but for it to be every dealer you have ever bought a new car from then there is no excuse...a crook is a crook. If it walks like a duck & talks like a duck...
