Hummer 2013 Winter Southern California Meet and greet [Irvine CA]

This is first of a series of meet and greet Hummer events being held this year. We plan to alternate venues every quarter between the Los Angeles area and San Diego area.

Just a short drive from Interstate 5 in Orange County, exit off at Jamboree Road, and head North. The first major street is El Camino Real, drive past this intersection and exit into the plaza on the next right. The restaurant located across from the AMC theater on the right.

If you are coming from Tustin Hummer, exit on Tustin Ranch Road and head North to El Camino Real. Turn east on El Camino Real and turn North on Jamboree. You can also loop around Auto Center Road to El Camino Real.

All Hummer owners are welcome, there will be several folks from various Hummer clubs in the area including the national Hummer Club and groups like Hummer 4x4 Offroad. All clubs are welcome, this is a chance to come meet other hummer owners, check out their trucks, etc.

The Hummer Club will be announcing their schedule for California runs for 2013 at this meeting.

The Spring meet and greet will be in the San Diego area, which may be a field fix event combined with a BBQ but that is tentative at this time.

I've had requests to push it back to the following week [feb 2nd] I was talking to a few folks who thought it would be a good idea just to have regular quarterly dinners and have the venue flop between LA area and San Diego area, I had a vendor approach me about hosting one so thats in the works.

If a lot of you can make the week later I can kick it back a week but I'd have to know by tomorrow night.

I met a bunch of hummer owners in my complex so the idea is get a lot of new hummer folks to show up and have reps and folks from all sorts of clubs and let people know about hummer and non-hummer events going on.

I'll leave the date on the 26th, It sounds like we got a semi large group forming up. I had some requests to push it back a week but then another group can't make it because of timing, etc. but no worries, there will be another one in March!

As for other things to do, In the morning theres a Cars and Coffee event at the Irvine Krispy Kreme from 6am-9am with a lot of exotic cars, and there's plenty of shopping in the area if the significant other doesn't want to talk hummers for a few hours ..

I'm going to look into getting a few vinyl decals done up with a california logo with an h1/h2/h3 on it for the meeting I'll keep a few extras for those who can't make it.

Looks like roughly 2 dozen people so far, most are new folks so it'll be a good chance to introduce H4O/HML/THCI, etc to new folks...

THCI asked me to put on 2-3 socal events this year for them, which will probably be a big bear run, a death valley run and a anza borrego run I'm thinking.

I wouldn't mind putting on a calico run and a "back way" to big bear run for H4O as well.

Zach and I would be doing a better job planning runs if work and medical issues weren't getting in the way.

With my all too often travel schedule I can't say anything. I miss half the runs that are planned anyway. Business and family with an occasional hunting or wheeling trip and it seems like I am booked for the year.

I will be on the road this weekend into next week, but will try to make it. By the way, I just bought a new toy at government auction, but it will be a while before all the paperwork is done and I can pick it up:

It is an M101a3 according to the website. Picked her up real cheap at the end of an auction. May need some fixing and beautification.

So roughly around 7-8 people from H4O would be a good estimate? I'm bumping up the reservations at the restaurant. Looks like we'll have two dozen people showing up, I'm talking to a buddy about getting a socal meet and greet decal done up to hand out for the weekend

I'll be there on Saturday.. I also have (2) new tie rods for a 2006 H3 that I'll give to someone who wants them. I don't know if they will work on the newer year H3's. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Kurt - I may have a few of us stopping by on the way to Monster Trucks . . . we have a few H1's and will have our sons with us so the stop may be short but would love to meet everyone.
