Guess I'll get things started in here.
Hi all & welcome to the H3T section, I never did a build post on mine so here's my 09 H3T. I don't have pics for every thing (damn noobs
) but I'll update it when I can.
First week - I picked it up the begining of January 2009 from Reeves Hummer in Tampa (remember when there used to be Hummer dealers
)
First real offroad trip with was in April 2009, joined big2dabank (Jeff) @ a Wheelers for the wounded event @ Hardrock in Ocala. had alot of fun & Jeff helped me give the T a good test run the first day :cheers: then threw me to the wolves the second day & left me alone w/ a bunch of heeps
. This is when I learned the T's were wheel base challenged (Glad I got the Adv Pack as the F & R lockers helped alot). Jason, the event organizer used to have a Hummer so I stuck w/ him & everyone else in the group was great even though they had play bumper monkey & pull me over a few spots.
first bit of dirt
Jeff scaring the s*** out of me & his dad, hint pick the right gear before starting up the hill so you don't roll back scaring the noob!
(scared himself alittle too I think
)
dang long wheel base, rock rails & all the under body armor you can find are a must if plan to wheel your T
Thrown to the wolves, a lonely T & Ford ranger
On to some mods - On the outside I've added some of the usual stuff, SMA brush guard, body color grill, Diamondback bed cover, locking fuel door, tail & side maker light guards & a custom front hitch w/ removable winch mount. Armor add ons are Rockyroad rails soon to be replaced w/ some Ridgedemon ones (get to welding Brodie :corn
factory UCP, a full set of Hunner skids & Rubberduck diff skid.
On the inside - some extra storage w/ a BA seat pack which I'm going to move to the passenger side as I took a play out of paladin's book & picked up the Smittybuilt GEAR cover for the drivers seat & a Daystar dash caddy. Electronics include Midland portable CBs & a pair of GMRS/FRS radios, Garmin handheld GPS, scan guage & RAD1 inclinometer I don't use the last 2 much cuase I still can't decide on a good place to mount them. And guess I'll throw the perfomance mods in here as well which are an Airdoc intake & PCMforless tune
Ok hopefuly that'll keep you entertained for a bit I'll add wheeling pics along the way.
