Good looking place! Makes me glad I don't live in Cali though. Damn prices are astronomical. I had a tough time with swallowing 290k earlier this year for our place but having been in it for a couple months now it was totally worth it!

That actually looks like a lot of CA house for 500k. Big Canyon Villas are closet thing to that around me and they start about 2.4mm Nice buy Craig! Let me know if you need a strong back and dull mind to help you move.

I am going to hire movers to take care of the big stuff. I will be moving anything in boxes. I just need to locate a trailer to borrow for a few weeks. Gonna take it slow on the move.

I'm glad to see you have a spacious garage. I see you're looking at what's important (bedrooms, bathrooms? what?).

I picked out a house plan for "one day when I have loads of cash laying around" that has 2 spots for cars and 1 spot for an RV with a guest bedroom above that. Oh man, I would have the raddest shop ever in that RV spot and I'd never go to the real house.

Actually, I am losing the three car garage I have now.

The Kia is going out in the street. I am hoping to have enough room for a workbench of some kind. Fortunately, the new garage is tall enough for the Hummer.

Not sure how I did it before I had my shop. Unfortunately we tend to fill up whatever space we have no matter how much that is. Would I hate to move again now.

man I can't wait to have any garage. I've been working on my hummer out in a stupid apartment parking lot. There's no plugs or anything so no power tools :'( at least it's covered because it's been raining a ton. I just hate to buy a house where I live now because I hate it here and I want to move SO BAD.

ok, let's say you drilled a hole in 1/4", but it's slightly off. you want to enlarge the hole, but only one side of it to extend it a bit so a bolt or something like that will line up. you don't want to use a new larger drill bit. What tool would you use?

I used a rat tail file, and it took me about 30 minutes of filing and it was a huge pain. a power drill attachment, maybe? which one?

I would use the tapered carbide burr bit in my air dremmel. Without that I'd use a round file.

Or, I'd line it up on my cnc table and do it with the plasma. [emoji12]

Yeah, I am with you on this one. I never really had nice tools until the last few years. I used a lot of "redneck engineering" as a shadetree mechanic.

So I always see prices of homes in the states..... And it makes me want to cry haha.... So jealous!

I am trying to find my first home and the starting price for something here that's not a fixer upper is $460,000.....

So then I figured hey, why not buy the land and build my own place..... There is not a piece of land for sale in this city (or within an hours drive) that's is less that $300,00... And that's just bare land!!

The crazy part is, my city is considered a cheap city to buy property in!!

The closest major city to me is Vancouver where an average three bedroom home is +$1,000,000

Make you wonder how so many people (3.6 million) can afford to live there!

So right now I am trying to broker a deal that involves moving an existing house (via barge) that is slated for demolition onto another piece of vacant land... If it all goes well I will end up with a late 1800's early 1900's historic 5 bedroom house (3,700sq ft + 2500sq ft basement) for around $500k.... which is a great deal since the house is appraised at $475,000 on its own without the land..... Problem is I only have a month to get the deal closed or else the house gets demo'ed for a new development that is going to start Dec 1st!

This house $h!t is crazy!!

West coast and Northeast prices are crazy along with pockets around the country. It is all about location. A million dollar home in central Texas would start at 3-4 million in CA coastal areas and go up significantly if in any high end areas like Emerald Bay or Corona del Mar.

Well, I find the prices are worth it here. I have lived in some bad areas and like the riffraff away from me. Fortunately, I work in a field that allows this purchase.
