so what's the consensus on these lights? yes or no? Its not worth it to pay way less if they keep breaking. My plan now is to get those starr HIDs eventually.

The lights are great and I have nothing bad to say about them. I too will get the STARR HID'S one day if the price ever goes down. I can't see myself paying $800 for some lights

.... if I can't say anything nice...
oh here... so after all that, they're sending me two lights to replace the one that blew... but I honestly don't know if I'll put them back in.

Made In China would be my guess....

I'd guess the heat - I don't think the light burned out, I think the controller died. If I put them on again, I'm pulling the grill and mounting the controller on the front of the core support. When I pulled the lights off, the working light controller and the balancer were extremely (like, you'd get burns) hot.

total derail - but Max, how much longer is the 12v motor than the sbc it replaced?

Are you guys having issues with the OLB or LifetimeLED ones? I have had my lifetimeLED ones since January on my H2 and March on my H3 with no issues whatsoever they work amazing.

Couple other people I know have purchased some for there vehicles and they have been flawless too

LifetimeLED, Ramrod is having issues with his as well.... welcome to the WWW, no longer does remoteness mean that someone with trouble is isolated... My problem with LifetimeLED was their lackluster response - they got my headlight a week prior to doing anything about replacing it; and only when I finally inquired did they get on the ball about replacing it.... everything breaks, but in this case it was the customer service that got their name on the web.

So, probably not the best design with regards to thermal management?

Thats a good question. I don't really know, but if I remember I will get measurements tomorrow. I can measure the Cummins in my truck, and measuring the SBC in Todd's S-10 is easy right now since the front clip is still off. My guess is 10-11 inches.....

Doesn't Ramrod have OLB and not LifeTimeLED? Your putting him and you together put your saying you have LifeTimeLED and by looks of his posts he has OLB? You can see why I asked which brand you are referring too....

and here we go again... I've got to, again, return a light to lifetime LED. This time the bright circuit on one light is dead... that's it, I want my money back.

beside that issue, they reversed the wires on the high beam/low beam circuit... what a waste.

****, mine are still in the box.......I wonder why?

The longevity of these things is quite disappointing (free replacement or not).

Somehow, I can't help but think Diode Dynamics is sitting back, having a beer, reading this thread and thinking, "Neener, neener, neener".

8^)

Last time I checked DD did not offer replacement LEDs for the headlights anyway.

No ****?

They make US pay shipping to exchange their faulty product?

Lovely.
