Little help please

Hi members I haven't posted in a few years. I suddenly have an issue that popped up on me.
My Service 4WD light comes on once in a while. I service my differentials every other year, my
4wd drive works fine. Anyone have any remedies to stop this annoying chime and light
from coming on once in a while? I appreciate it Thanks

4hi button sticking in after you push it. Was a common issue back in the day I just learned to make sure the button was all the way out after being pushed. You can take the switch apart and make sure it's clean. simple process. Id be careful now as I don't know if you'll be able to find a replacement. There were some who found stronger internal spring to better push the button out.

Interesting....... But my 4wd works just fine. What kills me though is the service light comes on only once in a while. I'll give your
remedy a shot let me see what happens. Thank you !

There is a laundry list of things that will cause the message. Best to find a good scanner that will show BCM codes too.

Encoder motor, abs wheels speed sensors, wiring plugs, fuse box, corrosion, 4x4 control switches, etc... As stated there is a whole lot.

Times two. You need to get some codes. These will help point you in the right direction, rather than chasing your tail thru lots of expensive sensors and such.

Yes it will. Make sure the button returns to normal position. It also could the switch sticking that the button pushes I no longer remember what the internals of that switch look like.
I'm also saying that's one possible problem. Especially after driving in desert dust.

Shall I dare ask? Are you still trying to use the crappy azzed OEM Battery Terminal Connectors? Since the absolutely suck, and allow for inconsistent connection of the main harness, they too can cause your issue. If you still have them, get rid of them and replace with a quality aftermarket set.

Doc is right. H3's are significantly sensitive to any and all voltage variations, and can be the source of many many electrical glitches. The OEM battery terminals are crap. It is not a matter of IF they will cause issues, it is a matter of WHEN. They may look and feel fine...THAY ARE NOT! Replace them immediately; the first thing every H3 owner must do.

This used to be commonly stated on this site (as well as other H3 forums), but it seems to be not mentioned much lately, and with lots of new forum members, it needs to be re-stated.
