They are an export version used on overseas built (South Africa & Australia) H3's. They look a little something like this :wink:

Yes, due to the export style fender flares they come with.

So I decided to take the Hummer along on holiday to visiting the family.

Obviously I was in no rush to get down to North-West, so I switched on cruise control at a steady 100KPh and hit the road.

100km(60 Miles)

200km(120 Miles)

300km (180 Miles)

400km (240 Miles)

Managed to stretch the tank to 600km(370Miles) before I had a buzzer telling me to refill

I got 7.5km/liter or 17.6MPG :woot:not bad if you take all the mods/add ons into consideration, one thing to note is that we have 95 octane fuel available this side, and I use it :giggle:

Wow, that is really good with 35's. I take it you don't have ethanol blend fuel either?

Its good ja, but you have to keep in mind that I stuck to the 100km/h 60MPh the whole way, and thats something many people struggle with, especially when they start getting tired/agitated.

nope, non of those blended crap this side.

here's the total list of fuel types available in South Africa

Petrol:
93 Octane LRP (all service Stations)
93 Octane Unleaded (all service station)
95 Octane unleaded (only some service stations)

Diesel:
500PPM (all service stations)
50PPM (only some service stations)

paraffine at most service stations, mainly used by informal settlements for cooking, lighting etc...
LPG also available at major service stations

I had a set of those on my truck...the key work there being "had". A couple of trips off-road and they were bashed so much they no longer functioned. Be sure to clean the pivot points with plenty of soapy solution anytime you wheel or they will seize-up really quickly.

They do, however, make the ingress/egress of your truck quite easy.

Thanks for the heads up, I was thinking that I would remove them each time I went weling, just to be on the safe side, they will mainly be used with normal driving, and when going on holiday :thumbs:

So I test fitted the powersteps last weekend, and boy does it work great

Some notes on the Installation:

My hummer is Right hand drive, so everything is wrong way round compared to installation instructions :no:
The Hummer needs to be washed

The front mudguards will have to come off
I'm going to need a suspension lift
