Howdy

Just bought a 2006 H3 Base this last month.
I work full time as a biologist and own a mobile electronics and automotive detailing business on the side.
I had a 2010 F150 but I needed something flashier for my business since it's looking like I'm going to be able to quit my day job and pursue my business.

I love the look. It has the space I need for tools in the cargo area. Plenty of room for the wife and two kids.

Installed Autopage 730 remote start
It had an existing Kenwood DDX616 but it was wired all wrong so only the front two speakers were working - fixed that
Installed back-up camera (using head unit as monitor)
Installed 14 inch overhead monitor (using head unit as video source)

Issues I've had:
Blower motor harness fried 2nd week I had it
replaced it and had to replace hvac switch since it fried as well
It had a P0128 code at the dealership and I could've had them fix it as part of the deal but I had them knock the price down another $500 and agree to a coolant flush and fill within 2 weeks.
I replaced the thermostat for $22 and had them do the flush and fill - all is good now
PASSLOCK!!!! god this thing has the most retarded ignition set up ever - remote starts usually take 4 hours. this thing took me 8.

Things I'm going to do in the near future:
New suspension - this one still has factory shocks
Brush guard
Gobi rack and ladder

I'll be looking for ways to boost acceleration so if you've got any pointers, go for it.
I don't want to supercharge an I5 but I need a little more umph to get up on the highway from the service road.

Also was going to say, I did an ipad install on my F150 and kinda wanted to do the same on the hummer but I'm going to wait and get used to the electronics on this thing since I've already had issues.

Welcome to the forum. Nice rig you have there. I tried the pro comp shocks, didn't like them and went back to stock.

A biologist, huh? I got my MS in dev bio but I work in the oil field. Bio just doesn't pay enough. Where do you go off roading?

Yeah the pay sucks, especially in environmental - I did oil field for a while but broke my back and was in a wheel chair so had to give up the $$ for something a little less demanding... and with freakin health insurance.

Off roading: mostly creeks and deer leases in the area. I've been to Bridgeport a few times in different jeeps, that place out in Whiley (can't remember the name) but every time it rains in DFW these places go crazy and you get a lot of morons on the trails. Last time I was out in bridgeport some dumb@$$ in a Ford Raptor slammed into my wrangler and put my spare tire in my back seat. Been looking for somewhere with a little less traffic.
