So it may seem funny to some of you that I have a +400hp H3t.... yet I either drive a Honda Fit or a Yamaha BWS 49cc scooter to work.
Mostly it's because I don't want to mile out the H3T and partly because parking the T can be a bit of a pain downtown where I work (scooter parking is free right next to my building).
A bit of prologue to my storey... the Fit is my wife's and it's been paid off for years and is cheap cheap cheap to use as a daily commuter...
The scooter I bought of a site similar to Craigslist (it's called Kijiji) for $200 about a year ago. It didn't run and needed a new battery. It too a $30 battery and q0 min with carb cleaner to get the scooter running again and takes $4 in had to run to work and back for a week (plus it's a fun little rig to grab a case of beer with when we run out).
Well the exhaust pipes of these two smokes tend to fill up with oil since they normally are driven such short distances and the pipe never really get a burning hot to clear it out. So sure enough my exhaust plugged up and I needed a new one... replacements are like $200 shipped and well I was really hoping to find a used one since that's as much as I have into the scoot in the first place. While looking for a new/used exhaust setup on Kijiji I found a guy looking to trade a KLR650 for, you guessed it, a Yamaha BWS 49CC scooter!!!
Long story short here is my new iron horse for weekend adventures and commuting:
