New to Hummers

Hello folks, I'm new to the Hummer world. I bought a 2006 H2 recently and would like to know which programer you would recommend and if it is worth the cost? The intended use is to tow my Jeep LJ. It has the 6.0 Vortex in it. I have not hooked to the Jeep yet but I wouldn't think this would be an issue. What should I expect out of a quality programer?

Hi Ron---I've been towing my 28ft TT for several years now without a programmer and it does as well as it's going to. I tried running a Diablo when I first got the trailer but it brought on undesirable traits like really weird shifting while pulling and the engine ran really hot which kept the fan on and was annoying as hell. Oddly enough when I put the factory tune back on the truck with the Premium gas it felt like it pulled much better and no undesirable traits. Ultimately I decided to just leave it all alone and run no tune on regular gas.
Spend your money on something more worthwhile.

Thanks for the input. I will for sure try it without a programer, as the only thing I would really want is maybe another mile or 2 better gas mileage.

There's definitely varied opinions on tuners, and they all have their arguments. I'm running a DiabLew custom tune with a Diablosport tuner on my 2005 on 37" tires. I have a clear improvement in shifting, throttle response, and power. I would never go back to stock.

I just towed a 20' RV 2800 miles round trip to Moab and back this summer and it did well. Other than the 7 mpg part!
