Just read up on him some, using the "easy" way -- Wikipedia. According to Wikipedia, he is sort of a 9/11 conspiracy theorist? (Read the third sentence under "Politics".)

:edit: That said, I don't know much about the guy. I'll be curious to learn more about him if he really is the VP candidate.

I wouldn't put much stock in anything on Wikipedia, after all, it's written by people without fact checking. I'd use YouTube and listen to him yourself.

The thing that I hate worst about polititians is that they never go away totally... They are in our pocketbooks forever... The day we take away their lifetime salaries, is the day we get some true polititians back into office.
