I have been asked to post some of my H3 trips so for those who haven't been previously bored...here is a start. Cheers.
Jeez you would think that someone would have shown a bit of common sense before they named the location of my lastest trip, Mouth of the Kolan River! Anyway, spurred on by the "4WD access only" advice, thought it would be worth trying to punch on through, hopefully not ending up in the brown stuff!!!!
The beach here is a bit ordinary by our standards as you can see......
But you didn't have to go very far to find interesting stuff like this headless, dead, beached whale...sort of your worst drinking when a youth and waking up next to...story...
Next was this bloke walking naked along the beach...struth, at first glance I thought it was gunner45 only this bloke rattled a bit more when he walked. I know I was at the Mouth of the Kolan River but seriously, this bloke was showing a little more colon than I was comfortable with! The other point of difference was that this guy didn't have a fetish for dead whales where as there were unconfirmed reports of someone matching gunner45's description trying to throw the leg on the whale....unconfirmed I must stipulate.
I wasn't sure if it was a Hummer Bummer or a Bummer Hummer!
At this stage I hadn't even reached the camp sites so I knew it wasn't going to a dull trip!!
I had checked with the local Ranger before leaving and had been told that there were only 3 fish in the local ocean, Bazza and Wazza the Bream twins and Willy the Winter Whiting. We jagged all 3 but in deference to future visitors, we released them. It had nothing to do with them being undersized! This is Jake with Bazza just prior to release.
For being a smart ass and catching the first fish, he was given cleaning duties at camp!
