Our Son is going to be in the hospital the first week of Oct. for a serious surgical procedure, he'll really need our support so obviously we've got to be with him.

He was diagnosed with Crohn's disease some time ago, and not doing well. It's pretty serious, they're going to remove his large intestine... Bummer!

I am planning on Saturday to at least Thursday and maybe through Saturday. Things have gotten really busy lately and I have a couple of construction loan closings coming up that will dictate what and when I can do stuff. I am hoping it doesn't interfere with my Moab plans at all but it could.

Doctors know what they are doing so i dont really have any doubt that it wont be. The chances are really low for it failing.

Forgive me if I missed something, are you guys planning on wheeling on Sun. Oct. 9th? The 24 hr bike race will be winding up and wasn't sure what the plans are. I have yet to make it for one of F5's Sunday trips and still haven't finalized when I'm leaving the DFW area, thanks!

Was going to be in Rattlesnake Canyon that Sunday, but decided it is too wet and the road in and out is totally impassable when wet.

As for a Sunday trail....
I have two in mind...

1. White Rim Trail. Fantastic views, but 110 miles long (that is the off-road part and does not count getting to the White Rim Trail. So it is about 9 hours. NEO and I did it a few years ago, left at 7, returned about 5, and after being closed for almost the entire year, it was finally re-opened last week. Mother nature has not been kind to this trail.

2. Potash, White Rim (part of) down to Lathrop canyon and have lunch down on the CO river. This would encompass hwy 279 to Potash road to the start of the White Rim Trail, then on to Lathrop Canyon trail down to the river. Some fantastic views and great photo ops, a great place to line up the Hummers for a group shot (Goosenecks overlook), Musselman Arch (if you ever wanted to walk across an arch, this is the place) and then down the Latrhop Canyon trail to the CO river bank. I believe you might even be able to get wet.

For return we can head back up via Shafer trial switchbacks, the over and down Long Canyon where everyone can get a photo of their Hummer under a giant boulder.

All are moderate so a good for a first timer to the Moab area. Nothing should get broken (including limbs).

I went under it with a White H3


and came back out with a Orange H3 and even picked up a hi-lift...
