Sand Trap !?!

Got bored tonight and decided to pull the gas tank skid to see if I could bang out some dents. Got quite a surprise when I got it off. :whaa:

It was packed with sand and dirt. Had to scrape a lot of it out, made quite a mess.

This is the first time the skid has been off in six years, in the future it will probably come off once a year.

Yeah if your off roading, probably a good idea.. I love to play in the dunes, but sand gets into everything, and everywhere... That is why after playing in the sand, we need to spray the heck out of the underneath of our rigs extremely well... Except for the places like that of course.. I am taking mine in to the shop today, I have a noise coming from the tank area.. Sounds like a loud vacuum sound.. Did you happen to notice any larger size vacuum hoses.. It has me boggled..Can hear it over the exhaust underneath it.

been there done that...I also mangled that skid to the point where it wouldnt wanna go back on.

I am about to pull the trigger on yanking my tank shield. It took quite a hit last weekend in Last Chance Canyon.
