WTF?!? The Jeep does not have that of noisy tires at all on the highway. But I'm wondering how the H3 got in 4th place because of 1 bad mark of not so good visibility, plus you can pick one up pretty cheap these days too, when the fj has a not so good 4wd system and same as not good visibility. I dont see how the pathfinder won too.

I hate when you get reviews when they are talking out the sides of their heads.. Give me a break. Let some real offroaders set up a tests for them all to run through that covers everything, and then we will see what and who comes out on top and in second.. A pathfinder, are you even serious... Pathetic.

This video is from 08 or 09, so the prices are from back then, but the visibility critic, well that was to keep the styling form the hmmvv integrated into the h3

Wow, to read the comments from the posers who posted, I should go out right now and dump my H3 for an Xterra. According to one...The H3 really shouldn't even be a contender. And another said...The Hummer and Land Rover shouldn't have even been in this competition. They are simply laughable and you should be ashamed if you consider them offroad vehicles.

OK,
:shame:, I guess I am properly ashamed. I guess I never considered the Xterra a true off-road vehicle. My best friend has one and we take my H3 when the going gets tough. But we are old farts and we don't want to be stranded with a breakdown. :woot:

Well, I guess we must consider that most folks idea of "off-road" is a 10' wide 30' long mud hole in the back pasture or off of the High School parking lot. Honestly, I sure didn't think the views that were shown in the MT video were that challenging.

I do agree that the LR2 street tires was a poor choice. I echoed that comment myself when I was recently asked (by LR,NA) to review the DC100 (Defender Concept 100" WB) and I said that if I were to buy the DC100 as it was presented, the first thing would be to change the tires.

I can only hope that the blokes at LR, NA will accept my invitation to bring the DC100 to Colorado and let me drive it over Mosquito Pass and then take it down to Silverton, CO. Sorry I didn't say Moab, but my "stomping" ground is Park County and the Silverton area.

Xterra... :hthink:.... nope. Like someone once said, you haven't been off-road until you have had a HUMMER in the woods!

Anything else is just a... :hjob:

In general I have a lot of respect for Land Rovers.

The Motor Trend video is typical of car magasines: They know next to nothing about off roading.

Motortrend, I was told just pushes whichever automaker pays them the most money and that goes for their award as well. I couldn't get the video to play either, but from your comments it sounds like nothings changed with them.:D
