Clearance dosnt make much difference. You have to press your left rear corner against the WALL to get some traction to LR. Wheel.
because of the way that step is once u have front up and over it rear will be sliding to the left until u will hit the wall. Only then u can get some traction to cligm up

I think you need to post the vids from the last time we were there to prove it.

That was crazy watching the hamster take that hill. That truck is all beast!

I hope you make this trip. You kept me on course and upright last time.

The hamster has built up quite the reputation! I have showed some of others his truck and they love it. There is even another russian guy with a defender and he is dying to meet serge and the hamster...Cant wait to see the video :corn:

Clearance was our issue. We had the front tires over the ledge but we were high centered on the UCP with 4 wheel spin.
Utilizing the wall is a nice technique for some vehicles to make it over but you still need clearence and you risk damage. Seth in his lifted jeep made it without touching the wall.

I never got a response from Ant. Is he going with us? Say hi to my Monte Carlo while you are there.

I'll have a head count for passengers tonight, I may have 1 or 2 co-workers joining us in their jeeps [lifted JK's with AEV stuff and lockers] but that is unlikely since things are busy at work...

Are we meeting at the trail head at 9:30? For the first timers I can arrive at 8:30 or 8 at the Chevron/Mc Donalds truck stop and lead people up the highway to the location for folks that never been there before?

I may have 2 additional H1's coming with me, Franco if he gets his H1 back from predator by tomorrow and Eric, both live in Burbank near me...

Well, I am officially out or at least my truck is. I was offered a truck to drive, thanks Anthony, but had to turn it down. Although, I am looking for a ride. Any H1 guys got an open seat or anyone else for that matter?

Ant will be out of town. Thought about putting a surprise under your seat but had to pass. Heard the diagnosis on the Monte Carlo and I quivered. Lol

I'm still not certain I'll get the day off. I have only had one Saturday off this year. I'll know by the end of the day.

Assuming I am able to make it, all my seats are currently empty, so you're welcome to ride with me. That is provided you can't find a ride in an H1 or and H2 and you're desperate enough to settle for an H3T with chrome! :shame:

Thanks Mike, Kurt and Serge. Mike, it wouldn't be settling riding in your chromed H3T. I think I will take you up on it Serge. Haven't wheeled in a lifted 2 yet.

Well..... this *SUCKS* but I don't think I'm going to be able to go.

I was just out filling up the truck and as I coasted through the gas station I heard a pretty clear "clack clack clack" from somewhere in the front end. I did some testing and I can consistently reproduce the issue when the truck is coasting. I need to figure out if the clacks are 1 per wheel revolution, 2 or something else, I'm hoping that might help me locate the sound.

I don't want to be a liability to the group so I'll think a bit about it tonight and then make the call about whether to go or not. I'd hate to break a halfshaft or a driveshaft on a technical trail and be one of the heaviest trucks and difficult to tow off the trail.

Do a bolts check under the truck, check the bolts on the half shaft and such. If you had a broken halfshaft you wouldn't be able to move in H or even a propshaft.

Could be a brake pad clattering around?

Agreed that whatever is it is, is not completely broken (yet)

My paranoia worries that it might be the chain in the t case, for a while I thought the sound came more from the center of the truck. It clack frequency makes me think that it might be a u joint that's about to go

Well drive it until it breaks :D.

I'll either have a full truck of a half full truck tomorrow morning.

There's a possiblity I may be a tad late I'll call in and meet you guys on the trail, I have to pick up someone at LAX at around 6 pm, so I'll have to duck out mid afternoon..

Add to that one of my passengers is coming from another direction so I'm picking him up at the chevron truckstop.

See you guys tomorrow!
