Sunroof issues! Pressure sensor?

So I am having the common sunroof issue with it opening but not closing and I am thinking that it is caused by the pressure sensor that is installed on the sunroof. That would explain why some people have resolved the issue by putting grease on the tracks. I was able to close the window by pulling it shut while holding the button, but after reading about the sensor, I figured out that I could close it by simply pushing up on the window relieving the drag of the window on the rails. If it is this sensor that causes the window to open back up due to the drag of the window, I wonder if there is a way to disconnect it. Has anyone been able to come up with a better fix other than just keeping it closed?

The root cause of the sunroof problems seems to be a combination of the grease in the tracks drying out, and the grease apparently destroying the rollers on the brackets that the glass is attached to. Once those rollers get damaged, they don't roll anymore, increasing resistance. If the grease then dries out, it just makes the problem worse. When your sunroof is closed, is there any play in the glass, i.e. can you wiggle it up and down at all, or does it rattle when you're on the highway? If the sunroof seems loose, that would indicate that the rollers are damaged and not fitting snugly in the tracks anymore. Pulling the sunroof and lifting it both do the same thing i.e. overcome the damaged rollers. All the pressure sensor does, if it's there, is to keep the sunroof from trying to chop off someone's arm if it gets caught by reversing the motor so it opens the roof again. So does your sunroof actually reverse itself when you try to close it, or does it just not close unless you help?

It reverses when I try to close it. If I push up on the window and let off anytime that it is closing, the window then reverses back to open. That is why I thought that if there was a sensor, it could be removed allowing the window to close. I would then have to make sure that the girlfriend was back inside the truck before closing it... Unless she happened to be getting on my nerves that day.

I also haven't seen any broken plastic pieces like others have mentioned. I dropped the headliner in the back far enough to clean the water traps out due to leaking roof and I only found pieces of acorns. Is there a type of grease to us and a proper way to apply it to get back working again? I shot it with some cable grease to try and hit the back of the tracks, but no luck with getting it to work properly.

I have the same issue, I have to help it close the last few inches by pulling it forward. I'm just totally guessing here but I doubt there is a pressure sensor, for this type of thing usually the voltage of the sunroof motor is monitored so if the voltage draw of the motor gets too high it means the motor is working too hard and there must be something preventing the sunroof from closing. That will be hard to bypass if thats the way it works...
