Just bought supplies for my next MOD!!
Well love the lift but have found that being short + lift = torn patrol pants lol..
I have purchased the metal to build my sliders w/ detachable steps..
Before my purchase I talked to FRU about gauge and design.. I had this awesome idea about design and was high on my mountain until FRU!!
This his how the text messages went.
(Text re-enactment how it played in my head)

TAPD- hey FRU! U busy?
FRU- was up
TAPD- what gauge steel do I need to hold the weight of my truck?
FRU- Depends! what's it for!
TAPD- I had this phenomenal idea for sliders and detach steps.
FRU- what's that!
TAPD- I want to use rectangular tubing so it will match the frame and get that OEM look.
FRU- hmmm like this

TAPD- DANNNG UUU FRU!! Well I thought I had a good idea!
FRU- No u had a great idea. Great minds think alike.

Well it wasn't exactly like that but very close.. I just purchased 6X2" rectangular tube and 2X2" square tubing. Also 1/2 steel plate, 3/16 steel plate, & 1.5" round tubing..

FRUs pic is pretty much the look I'm going for with some minor changes.

This is my step idea.

My template I drew yesterday.

I'm not going double tubes! I am going to cut one in half and widen it.
FRU brought up a good point about the steps- when they are off the mount point will double as and excellent point to use a highlift jack..
FRU is sending me is template for te mount plates so that makes one step easier.. Hopefully I will get started tuesday!!!

Well just want to make sure I got the right bolts.. I got 1.5 3/8 grade 8 bolts..
And these 3/8 bolts for the steps..

I have the RS9000 adjustable shocks. I've tried several of the settings and settled on #2 at all four corners. At first it was on #1 in the rear but that was too soft.

I have the same I think!!! 9000XL! So two is the sweet spot huh lol

What setting have you settled on? I am thinking about playing with mine a bit over the weekend and was going to use this as a starting point!

I drive on Arkansas roads a lot and down here in TK it's like riding offroad lol.. Level 2 was suggested by another Arkansas member.. I'm still gradually playing with them but level 2 is what I keep going back too..

Well I am sure its very similar here, we had a terrible freeze/thaw cycle over the past winter and our roads are just terrible this spring!! We spend far less on roads per year compared to the US in general (not sure about your state). but we are spending $12,000,000 this spring fixin' just pot holes :whaa:

I'll go check what mine are set at tonight, very interested to see.. might be some room for improvement!

Well today I was goin to take pictures of the build and post today, but a freak accident brought that to a halt.
While taking pictures my buddy was cutting a bracket with the chop saw!
Whatever he did caused the saw pad to explode and I took a 2"x2" steel
Bracket to the face at a high velocity..

Luckily I'm quick like a cat and was able to move my head some cause if I wouldn't of moved i would be in the hospital with a concussion or worse.. Even better if I wouldn't of been standing there I would be missing the glass out of my passenger door... So pictures will be next Tuesday..

Lmao!! I'm glad u said this.. I went to the gym an told them I was attacked by a rabid banshee, and they didn't believe me .. A work buddy called me and I told him a was attacked by a suspect with a razor blade and he didn't believe me.. Probably because he was at work and did see a report on it.. I didn't think that one all the way through lol...

Sooo I lied.. Did not get the sliders and steps rapped up. Working three jobs has me pulled 500 different ways. We did get some work done and we almost have a complete slider built..
After cutting our 6X2 sliders in to 8' sections, we torched some scraps to make our step mount brackets.

These are our step mounts built with the brackets cut from the scraps and 2X2 tubing. They will also be our lift points for our highlift jacks.. Each will hold a 12" detachable step.

Once built we drilled out wholes for our 3/8 screws and welded our nuts to the brackets... "OUCH"


Finally we cut 45 degree angles at the end of the sliders and will be welding on the cover plates as soon as I get them cut.. We got two step mounts welded on but ran out of time to weld the center section to complete the slider.. Once all is done the welds will be ground down smooth for a seemless finish..

Your T is looking good. Do you mind telling what you did to darken the side marker and tail lights? Also where you picked up the roof rack and lights? I think leaving the chrome handles and mirrors was a good choice to break it up a little.

Hey Craig I don't mind at all. I acquired the side markers from a member here and gave him mine. I used VTX nightshades on the brakes and blinkers which can be purchased at any auto store. I got mine at ORiellys. I built my rack out of two xterra roof racks which I got at a salvage yard.. Build should be in my thread.. Lights on the top are Westin offroad lights which can also be purchased at auto stores.. I believe I got them at AutoZone. Grille LED bar was won in a bid on eBay... I appreciate ur interest ..
