The squeaking suspension

Hi guys,

For some time I have tried to isolate and fix a *really* annoying squeak my truck is making.

The rear passenger's side suspension squeaks. A lot. It sounds horrible, and kinda funny.

Here's a brief video of the noise:

My next step will be to stat applying a good penetrating oil to the various joints one by one hoping that I will find the culprit that way. I have tried using spray on white lithium grease but I don't think that really penetrated anywhere. Any suggesttions are very welcome

I have the same squeak on the front driver's side of my old black truck. White lithium grease in the strut cover (on the shaft) cures it for a while. In truth, the struts are shot. Might want to try the same and see if it goes away. If so, it's probably time for new shocks/struts.

I've had just about everything slathered in white lithium grease. I'm wondering if I should try ATF, maybe that would penetrate better?

Damn! You beat me in suspension squeak...I think Squeky1 is still available

I would have thought lithium grease would do the trick.

How about a control arm bushing? I had a truck that made a squeak a lot like that. Turned out to be one of the arm to frame bushings. Drove me batty finding it!

Alex I think you might be confused... It's usually male dogs who hump inanimate objects....... Oh, H3's sometimes hump rocks, too ;-)

Hi Mike, thanks a bunch. In all fairness, the squeak WAS gone for a while after you worked on it. I guess it decided to come back, lol

Next time use non-squeaking bolts. Worth every penny. You might be able to sell the squeaky one to Chris
