I'm doing a Friday night dinner with Bigunit, Cotilo and friends, and then taking the H3 from Tucson to KS. I think I'll mostly be ahead of the winter storm that's coming, or at least just see rain. It'll be good to put about 2200 miles on the H3 with the round trip.

Put a rebuilt transmission in squeaky just in time before a flight to NY. Found out the hard way GM decided to update the inlet line with a new fitting on the trans and that's why my new transmission line wouldn't fit. Literally an 1/8 of an inch longer then before....why was that necessary GM? got that squared away with a local dealer having the fitting. Was gonna ask Zach but I needed it within hours. Luckily they had it...anyways now boarding a red eye flight to NY in 15 min. I'll be there till the 2nd.

Very jealous of your badass multiple thousand mile road trips. I'd love to travel the US in squeaky...one day it will happen

One of the great things GM does is incremental upgrades, also one of the infuriating things. I've been lucky with work, and personally, that I can convert some trips to driving. Chris, I took the H3 to Boston last year and put 6000 miles on in about 10 days. You can do it if you want to. Besides, you get hooked up on tires.

Yep, that is true. Take the good with bad on GM.

That sounds like an awesome trip! I've driven 44k miles for work this year, unfortunately that wasn't in the H3. I hope one of these days I can take squeaky on a good road trip. She only saw 3-4K miles of use this year. I'd really like to drive her to Ny when I see family and get a good shot of her in the city. Talk about sticking out like a sore thumb...

I'll be spending Christmas at home with my wife and kids, and my parents will be coming over from Colorado as well. Work is closing the office all of next week, so I'll be able to enjoy some peace and quiet. That's the hope anyway, I'll still be on call in case any of the server's at work decide to throw a fit.

My daughter has a friend (former exchange student) flying in from Sweden. We're staying at home and enjoying some rare, rare, rare rain here in El Centro.

I ordered a disc brake conversion kit for the 1970 Cougar that I'd like to have put on by Christmas eve along with replacing a trans seal and u-joints. The car's been on jack stands in the garage for 3 months waiting for me to get the brakes so it'll be great to have it mobile again and try to get the garage cleaned and sorted. We've been in this house for two years now and I still haven't been able to get anything where I want it in there or where I can remember where anything's at--well, except for the HUMMER sign, it's where it needs to be!

Merry Christmas all!
