What kind of car did you learn to drive in?

1960something Willis Jeep! I practiced on the crop duster strip on the farm. 4 banger, military style tires.
Windshield down and 22 rifle made it a Rat Patrol imitation. Anybody remember that??

We had three of them and a Jeep pickup converted to a quail hunting rig with a plywood body on the rear.
I need to find that slide if it has not faded away, like me................

I learned is a 94 saturn SL sohc 5 spd... taught myself on youtube how to drive stick.... that was almost 14 years ago!

'83 Toyota Camry, 5-spd and all. But the real winner was the '85 Dodge D50 4x4 5-spd I drove for my first job as a property caretaker. I was responsible for a 70 acre estate owned by a Buddhist Neurologist who demanded perfection. The property was located on the side of a mountain with a lot of very old logging and service roads which made for a lot of fun. That job is pretty much where I learned where to off-road and it was worth it just for that skill.

John Deere 2510 here, taught by my grandfather....My uncle has the farm now and the 2510 is still in service.

As for passenger vehicle Jeep CJ5 don't remember the year.

1960 Ford pick-up. 292 V8, Cross-over pipe, 3 on the column. My younger brother learned on the same. My Dad made me learn how to put in clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing, since we were burning them out all the time.

First car I ever drove was Squeaky. In the High School parking lot on a sunday afternoon. Bone stock, 32s, chrome running boards.

First car on the street was a corolla for drivers ed. The H3 was my dad's and I was gonna get a truck but the lease was up on the 3 and he wanted a new car so squeaky was mine if I put down 3k. I did and the memories go on from there.

1976 Buick Skyhawk is what I drove while getting my learner's permit. I took my test in an awesome (and I mean just the opposite) 1976 Chevrolet El Camino with an earthpounding (sarcasm, again) 5.7l diesel in it.

That said, I learned to drive on my dad's lap in our 1971 Chevy pickup

My Mom had a 1972 Mustang with 351 Cleveland. My Dad had a 1975 Ford Grenada.
The Mustang was better.

Well my driver's ed car in high school was a Cobalt sedan... :shame:

Then there was my mom's '96 Acura SLX (Isuzu Trooper clone) and my dad's '97 Saab 900. My mom got an Explorer at some point and I inherited the SLX as my first car. I often miss that car. Lot of good times, and it never left me stranded anywhere or had any issues.
