Hmm, SuperBuick - you've got a stable of vehicles. I'm sure one of them is ready for an upgrade for SAR :)

and there's the problem I have a stable of projects that need finished:
My wife's Rubicon
the Land Rover (turbo diesel)
the 79 Fiat Spider with the twin turbo CTS motor
the 50 Buick Sedanet (with the twin turbo Buick motor)
the 83 Pickup (with just one turbo)
and the 75 Corvette (with an unknown number of power adders to be named later)

after that, I need to figure out how to add turbos to the Hummer and the Jeep.

there is one that isn't a project (except for some bodywork)
an 09 TDI Jetta (wait for it) turbo.

But after all of those things are done - I'm all over this (might even do a turbo diesel :))

Good thing I'm a Christian and plan to live forever, huh?

That guy is nails behind the stick of that machine. That rock field he's crossing is insane. Oh, and the frozen river.......

I think the Corvette is a perfect mule for this conversion. Giant balloon tires and 4WD would go well in this redneck project.

I was thinking the Land Rover - and then post it on Rover forums... you think the folks at the other Hummer site are testy? they're amateurs comparatively. There was a knock-down, drag-out fight because I was replacing the gas motor in my D2, about 20% thought I was stupid because the gas motor was the best thing since Jesus' incarnation (maybe even better?) another 20% thought I was "ruining" a "good" D2 (is there such a thing? honestly, they're all broke), and the final 60% were certain that I could never import a motor.

man I was never all that impressed with the disco motor, and I had a '03 with the 4.6. it was peppy enough, but I can't imagine the 4.0 being very good. the 4 speed auto was also not my favorite.

mine, I'm converting to a 300tdi diesel with a 5 speed. Motor is in, the pedals are in, trans and transfer case is in.... just waiting on a radiator and a couple fuel lines.
