With good reason. I've had bad luck in the past. I should be on #3, but I've found that the Wal-Mart Do It Yourself stuff actually does a decent job as long as it's not directly in your line of sight.
I'm about ready on the 08 with 55,000. Five or six rock repairs and it's sandblasted. I checked here and it's $189 and they will let me remove the OEM frog lights there so they don't strip my rivnuts! That way I won't have to un-wire them to drive over there. I used thread locker on the inserts and anti-seize on the bolts so maybe it will be ok.
They said it had the black dot border and was like what was in there.
I have glass coverage so it isn't bad. I've had a good installer each time (I use the same company) and I always request that they use one with the tint across the top which was not part of the 08 and later H3s. 117,000 miles, five years on this truck.
I also have a large chip on the driver's side, about the size of a dime, but it's not in my normal line of vision so I've ignored it.
Just past 50K and still on the original. Thankfully no cracks, but I have allot of little tiny chips and every time it rains the wipers are not cleaning the water of of it really good. There are lots of streaks from this chips. I thought that my wipers where bad and replaced it with new Bosch wipers and still same result. That annoys me allot especially when there is salt on the road. Salt gets trapped in this chips and then slowly comes out and smears it everywhere. Drives me nuts and makes me wish to replace it with new one.
Still on the original here with 80K. Sure, for the past 40K it's had a crack from edge to edge about 3" from the bottom but I know as soon as I replace it i'll crack the new one. It's low enough I only notice it if the light hits it just right. On the other hand I got a 6" crack in my Sport Trac a couple weeks ago and had it replaced the next day.
Still have the original windshield. Been driving my truck for around 27k miles and all I have is one rock chip that I had professionally filled for free due to my insurance coverage. I can't say the same for my driver side rear window. It fell victim to vandals or thieves and I paid for the replacement out of pocket, because it was cheaper than my deductible.
