Coming back to an H2

Well after BSHS 4/13 Moab, we have decided to go back to an H2. Many have known us as H22H3, meaning, we wheeled an H2SUT in Moab from 06-08 and had an absolute ball. We then went to the dark side and sold the SUT got a new 4Runner and gave up wheelin for awhile. You can't wheel a stock 4Runner in Moab, I dont care what anyone says, you just cant. So, we did the black top thing, got the itch for Moab and settled on the H3, because of "fuel economy". Thus the name H22H3. Now, PCH3 to PCH2. First off let me say, any of you that own a 3, it is an amazing off roader!! If you havent used it at its full potential, please do!! We will be wheelin the H2 in Moab in Oct, so we will let you know the differences between the SUT, H3 and H2 Wagon.

Maybe one day I'll finally have an H1 :sigh:

I love my H2; my only complaint is size for the trails around here. A lot of the trails were cut for small rigs (read: Jeep TJ) and I would end up pounding the H2 through them - I felt bad doing it and essentially needlessly destroying the truck.

I thought about trading in my H2 for a 2500HD truck, but everytime I get in my H2 I get a big grin on my face. It is a stellar truck. Like nothing else!

Thought your name looked different. Did you get the one you test drove the other day?

Yes it is the one I asked you about, Thanks Zach for all you input and knowledge!! We did not get the Air ride though, after talking to our tech at Seiner, we decided to go without the air ride. I'll tell you, we loved our 3, but driving up Parley's Summit in a Duece is MUCH easier!! We really forgot how much we loved our SUT until we got back into a 2. Pics will follow this weekend. I'll post pre-black out pics, lots of Chrome on it now.........We're not into Chrome! Which leads me into next question, any suggestions on black door handles?

I'd like to own an H2, but not giving up my 3. Would like to hear some comparisons from those who have wheeled both! Mike

The H2 is really not much bigger than H3 despite appearances. Given that, wheeling the H2 is sooooo much less dramatic in the exact same situations that had my butt puckering in the H3. It just feels alot more sure footed and the little bit of extra width and suspension travel help it to put it's tires on the ground where the 3 would just teeter on two tires. Also, at the end of a wheeling day, you don't feel beat up like you do with the stiffer ride of the 3; the deuce just has the pleasantly cushy ride, which translates to a much smoother wheeling experience.

Hey PCH2, if you're in at Seiner getting service, say "hey" to Doug Thompson for me, just remind him I'm the guy who had the woodpecker on his H3--everybody there remembers that one! I really miss getting the Seiner treatment and having a burger while waiting for the truck.
Congrats on coming back to your senses as well and getting back into the deuce!
And oh yeah, Parley's sucked BALLS trying to tackle it in the 3! The 2 does it with no drama--other than you can actually hear the engine sucking the gas out of the tank and watch the gauge go down!!

As looking as the subject is up, how much is a set of handles? That's still on my to-do list.

Just let us know what the cost would be. I still have the THOR front bumber we got off of TBone in Moab, so I'm thinking of putting it on the swap meet.

We had to go and visit the old Hummer building at Jerry Seiner. Thought it appropriate since we bought our first Hummer there. Sad it is now a Kia dealership!

That is one clean H2. 08 or 09? ...looking forward to seeing it this Summer. I have some H2 roof handles (black) if you want them, I'll send 'em out.

That's the south Salt Lake Seiner store? I cringed when I first read it was a Kia dealer, but the North Salt Lake store would never put Kia's in next door to the Caddy's.
It would be funny to see them set some cars on the roof, and maybe a couple on the test track (is the test track still there?)!
