    H3 won't hold a charge (AC)

Could be a temperature differential that opens up the leak. Regardless of why there's a leak, like Endeavored said, you just need to find it at this point.

what rear shocks are you guys running?

My last combo on my H3 was OEM Adventure shocks with tires at 28 psi. (Yokohama Geolander M/T, a pretty stiff and loud tire.) That pressure was needed to get a decent tire patch on the ground. Any higher and I was riding a crown in the tire. I really enjoyed the ride of Bilstein 5100s but like...

    BFG,s AT KO3

For me, longetivity was not a concern in either. Going off road in the rocks I would chunk them up badly enough that I'd always replace well before the tread wore down. Another off road consideration is sidewall strength - I had several sidewall punctures with earlier KOs (3 out of 5 tires on...

    ALPHA conversion!

Read the "New Motor" thread that's pinned to the top of the H3 section. There are likely other similar threads in the Builds section.

    Rear end.

Can't believe no one saw this until now, likely because it was in "Announcements" and not the H3 section. Did you get it resolved yet? If not, find a local shop that works on differentials. Maybe a 4x4 shop. It's much more reliable to rebuild than replace. You can add a locker too if you don't...

    Driver side IFS conversion?

Question regarding the project - is this strictly a street vehicle or are you looking for off road gains as well? If strictly street, a custom IFS could be interesting and would be a better ride. But, as covered above, it would likely be more difficult than an SAS.

Where to buy ACdelco upper control arms?

Looking at Rockauto.com, parts like these come and go in availability. Hopefully they are not gone for good. I'd be comfortable with the Delphis, Moog or Mevotech ones they have listed. Probably all made in China, but place of manufacture alone is not the concern, at least for me. There's a big...

Keying the cig lighter sockets ?

I don't recall an ignition-only option for these, though I could be wrong. It's one of the reasons I would hardwire accessories like a dash cam so I would not have a measureable draw, though I would leave a USB adapter in there (without anything plugged into the USB).

    Newbie needing parts

And for stock suspension and drivetrain parts, check in with user 4speedfunk. He often has take-off items from other's builds.

    Rear driveshaft replacement

One of those driveshafts that failed was likely measured a bit too long. And yeah, I think we all benefit from Chris's mistakes experience.

    What have I done

Every part you listed is a consumable and could be due for replacement on an 18 year old vehicle. The great thing about buying used is the money that's saved, but IMO you should always allocate a good amount for maintenance. Most people don't sell right after they fix their vehicles; they sell...

2007 H3 Rear Wheel Drive Only?

4Hi locked, front CVs removed, front propshaft removed, front diff removed you might see a minor improvement in MPG. That would remove that friction from the drivetrain and lift some weight. That said, I doubt that it's worth the effort. Plus, I had to do that for a while and I didn't see a...

2024 Black Sheep Week recap, Sand Hollow

We had another great group in Hurricane, UT this week. We welcomed some new members to the Black Sheep, including 4lotank, Datapimp, wife of Datapimp, Geno and his wife. They were themselves an SAS invasion with their H2, H3 and two H3Ts. JakesZ28 also brought his buddy in a new 2 door Bronco...

    Hummer Geoguesser

My guess is along Potash Road, perhaps near Thelma and Louise Point. You also get great light like that along 191 when coming from Top of the World back to Moab, but I'm not sure that the above shots could be created from there. Potash Rd seems more likely since the H3 is pretty close to the rocks.

I think I also put the address in the PDF I sent you guys via PM a few weeks ago that has an overview of...

    Rancho lift on stock wheels?

The question was regarding fitment with a Rancho lift installed. No need for spacers with stock suspension, but with the Rancho 4" lift spacers are required if using the stock wheels. A better choice than spacers might be 17" wheels especially as there are more choices now as 16s get less popular.

Help! Just bought h3 with some repairs needed

Electrical is just clips, usually with retainer tabs that you press down to release them. You may want to purchase retainer clips ahead of time - 15 year old plastic has a good chance of breaking when you pop them out. Also get some good nylon trim tools.
