Valkyrie here, SheVVulf is my 2008 H3 Base

226k miles, no check engine light 🤘

I'm here hoping to source replacement parts and learn from those that know better.

Replaced the windshield today! It was cracked seal to seal in multiple places, Went fishing all last weekend and the 35-38° temps made little bubbles in the cracks, hundreds of them lol.

Just finished $1000 worth of transmission work at AMMCO this last week too. After driving up north to Flagstaff and clocking 650 miles over the weekend, mine is running freaking great. AC is blowing ice cold, too.

But it needs some more work; full suspension, resonator, muffler, tailpipe(s).

After that, 1 replacement Hummer exhaust tip, replace the broken driver's side mirror base. Repair the exterior trim, figure out how to solve the broken tab issue on all the plastics. Goofy mfers keep bumping into my rear, so my bumper slants down a little, I'm guessing that's a couple hundred into body work eventually.

Oh! I gotta replace the driver side passengers 1/4 panel window section. I'm waiting on a callback from the Auto Glass spot, they're pulling it for me.

I'm just keeping it brutal in my scruffy black h3 🤍 Thanks for the wisdom I'm about to receive.

Welcome! I highly recommend Dave at Apex Auto, apexautoaz.com. He got my two H3s humming after a few years of neglect on the one and a new used fix up on the other, including the rear wiper, rear 3rd brakelight, front end on both, cracked 8th cylinder head bolt, and some other pieces I’m forgetting. Oh yes, and a snorkel install on the one. When I get time I’m going back for the cracked plastics, door handles, and a yearly sunroof drain cleanout.

Hi Maria, thank you so much for the recommendations!!

I'm googling them after I reply 'cause I just learned that there is a massive oil leak, engine ran dry after 650+ miles and I have three loose motor mounts, two on the engine and one on the transmission- which explains that wild shaking I get when accelerating.

Welcome aboard! I think that many of us are turning the same page with the upkeep and repairs. Doing the best we can with what we can find.
I've lucked up on a young man who has opened a mechanics shop near the house. I've got his number on speed dial.

Keeping these rigs in good shape is definitely a labor of love. But if you ever consider the wisdom, just check the prices for a new vehicle replacement. Makes my restoration budget look like pocket change.

I second that recommendation with Dave at Apex. Also, while I can't do any fixing I can offer opinions - I'm full of them, so I'm told - as to whether items need replacement and their urgency, proposed fixes, etc. I've broken or worn out nearly everything on an H3.
