2008 stalling out

Our 2008 H2 has stalled on us on 3 different occasions. Once in a parking lot and 2 getting off the freeway on the off ramp. It won't start for about 10 minutes and every time we try, it keeps cranking the engine even when you let go of the key. It has also developed a surge of the accelerator when idling and turning at low speed, like turning into a parking space. Dealer can't reproduce symptoms so they can't fix. They checked everything they can troubleshoot, but can't give a reason. If anyone has had the same issue or might know what is causing this, please let me know.

One thought is bad gas, but if it keeps cranking, it has to be electrical, so I'm thinking your ignition switch is bad and it gets stuck, but then you mentioned the idling, which could be a separate issue or all together maybe the ECM computer? Did the truck get heavy wet or submerged in water recently? Or did you have any audio equipment or anything that involved touching your wiring? connected jumper cables in the wrong direction to jump start it? There is also a main Hummer mechanic here, just go into the forum section, and you will see a listing for his page, and he might be able to help with your questions too

This sounds like a combination of symptoms, so it may take some time to diagnose it. Especially if its not throwing any codes and your dealer could not pull anything. Check plugs and wires, air flow sensor, basic things first. Maybe clean the throttle body and mass air flow sensor, flush/clean fuel system, etc... Could be simple. Fuel pump could also be on its last leg.

Thanks for the input. The only electrical was the day it first happened we picked it up from the dealer after they replaced the rear light bulb housing in the lower rear bumper from being corroded. I had them look to see if anything they did would cause a short somehow or somewhere and they said no.

Dealer couldn't duplicate issue. All the systems checked out fine. We haven't experienced it again. I have noticed fuel mileage has gone down, but going from 35's to 37's will obviously contribute to that. We're hoping to make it out to Moab in April with the Black Sheep, hopefully no reoccurring issue while there. If it does, there is so much knowledge within that group, they'll figure out what the dealer tech's couldn't!

Hope to see you there. I had similar issues that have not reappeared, well , at least the rpm issue. I think I had or have throttle position sensor issues

I was having the stalling issue when stoping, but it would start back up. Our shop couldn't reproduce it, but the battery we had was going out. Ever since they replaced the battery our H2 has had no issues of the stalling again.
